You did...obviousely Silsbee did not play the best game tonight though, Silsbee has a great team but every team has nights they dont play as well as others. I was impressed with Kelly and there play in the tournaments.

Didn't say anything about silsbees team so I have nothing to be careful about. I've seen silsbee play several times and I know the difference stallworth makes he is far and away your best post.

Also appreciate the comment poppabearStarr

You need to get a grip, ST4life.

Silsbee did not play that well but I give credit to Kelly, they came to play. They really worked the ball around and took advantage of some things and they also shot the ball well. The one thing that did stick out for me was how well Kelly rebounded on the defensive end. I thought Silsbee would kill Kelly on the offensive glass and get several second chance points. But that did not happen. Kelly hung tough inside.

I will post the scoring and give a game summary later.

Never said that Silsbee did play well  ::)

Kelly played better than Silsbee tonight

But Kelly can’t hang with Silsbee even if they play their best game and Silsbee plays their worst which that was displayed tonight

Just saying that Silsbee won the game and that’s that

Yeah I don't know enough about Silsbees bigs besides DC was tonight an odd night because they were relying on athleticism rather than boxing out if they box out with their leaping ability I don't see anyone getting a rebound on them? When will Stallworth be back? I noticed his boot is that just for
quicker recovery or is it a bad sprain?

Get a grip is right nobody said that Silsbee didn't win the game. All that was said is that Kelly kept it closer than many people thought. Silsbee has a good team and will finish 1 or 2 in district with HJ.

Stallworth is wearing the boot for precautionary measures. He will be out for 2 weeks. Possibly back for the first district game against WOS on the 15th.

Silsbee's bigs did not do a good job tonight in the rebounding department. They will need to get back to how they were playing before. They did combine for 13 block shots though.

Scoring leaders for both teams:

Bmt. Kelly

Nick Schrapps  21
Taylor Pace      16 (4 three pointers)
Thomas Falgout 12
Andrew Messina  8

Silsbee

Pheal Hill    31 (23 in 2nd half)
Prentice Lane  18 (16 in 1st half)
Avory Thomas  14
Kendrick Jones  12
Ronald Barrett    8
Kelton Gaines    5

Score by quarters

                                  1        2        3        4      tot
Kelly                          15      11      18      22      66
Silsbee                        17      25      14      32      88

Silsbee was 12-16 from the free throw line for 75%, Kelly was 11-15, 73%. Not a lot of fouls were called in this game. Neither team made it to the double bonus in either half. Total fouls, Silsbee 16, Kelly 15.

Rebounding was surprisingly even with Silsbee holding a slight edge, 38-34. Silsbee did not take advantage of their height on the offensive glass, Kelly limited the Tigers on second chance points.

Three point shooting

Kelly  7-18, 38%  Pace was 4-9, 44%
Silsbee 4-9, 44%  Barrett was 2-4, 50%

Silsbee did have 16 block shots with Thomas getting 7, Jones 6.

Silsbee missed D.C. Stallworth, played an ugly game from a defensive and rebounding stand point. Just didn't seem to play with any energy. Also this was probably the Tigers worst game as far as handling the ball. Silsbee had several unforced turnovers by just being careless with the ball. Just wasn't a good night for the Tigers.

I give credit to Kelly. Coach Knowles and staff had the Bulldogs ready to play. They played very smart and stayed within themselves, doing what they needed to do. The Bulldogs concentrated on hitting the boards and worked the ball around well, showed lots of patience, and then executing by shooting the ball really well. They also forced some turnovers and got some fastbreak points, particularly in the second half. Good job by the Bulldogs!

The lead never got more than 16 points for Silsbee, Kelly had the lead once at 23-22 in the 2nd. Kelly did close the gap to 4, 44-40 in the 3rd, but Silsbee then went on a 22-6 run, getting the margin to 20, 66-46, and pretty much keeping that margin the rest of the game.

All in all, it was an ugly win for Silsbee, but it was a win. Silsbee needed Stallworth.
