East TX Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 I understand that on February 4-- Temple JUCO and the PA Seahawks will play an early SB game in Port Arthur. Wow, a chance to see our local girls in action with scholars to these two JUCO teams.
LamarStatesports Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 Temple has been Lamar State's first games of the season for the past four years, and it has produced some lively competition. The rivalry began in 2006, when the Leopards went 55-5 and the Seahawks were one of only five teams to defeat them on their way to the NJCAA national championship tournament.LSC-PA head coach Vance Edwards said playing Temple, which competes in Region V, is a good way to open the season each year because that program is well established and always fields top-flight teams. The games give the Seahawk players an idea of how good the top teams in Region XIV will be.The Seahawks are 2-5 against the Leopards. This year's games are at 1 and 3 p.m. at Martin Field. We hope to see a big crowd to cheer on the Seahawks as they begin their 2010 campaign.
