tyree Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 "What are the prices are?"Are you kidding me?I love it. Its the old days all over again. As an old veteran of the football wars that was lost back in the day...it was all about the proverbial "put your money where your mouth is". I've already sent my money in. At the least, I owe that to my earned degree(s) and Jimmy Simmons and Billy Tubbs. Please consider doing the same. And no...I don't work for Lamar...hell, I don't even live in Beaumont. Our last best chance to enjoy in Beaumont, Texas what happened last night with Boise State (and TCU for the matter) is your support. Can it never happen here?????? All of you on this post and your friends in the community are at the crossroads. After almost 20 years of climbing up out of the gutter of disrespect, LAMAR will field a football team next year. Can you believe it? Isn't that great! To all of you that love that school as much as I, I hope I never see again:"what are the prices are?"..........BUY TICKETS! JOIN ME NEXT FALL! GO BIG RED! ...or as we use to say in the politically incorrect 1970s: "Give 'em Hell Big L".........
lu cards Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 i was told the 22nd they go on sale.where did you see they go on sale tis week?
AggiesAreWe Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Again, what are the prices?BTW, Mr. Money bags Tyree, I plan on buying season tickets, but would like to know the price schedule and others have asked me to find out as well.I'll buy the price range that fits my budget.
lu cards Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 ive looked and havent seen anything released about season tickets.theyve been on sale to cardinal club members for a month.i do know reserved seating around the 30 is $100 per seat/per season(not bad).i would think they would be a little cheaper on the goal line and other side.
Guest coachacola Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 I saw where UTSA has already started selling season tickets for about $100 for the season package, and they don't start playing until 2011. But $100 seems to be about the going rate for the SLC.
ForeverADog Posted January 6, 2010 Author Report Posted January 6, 2010 Well I was told their was a press conference later this week to announce them going on sale. But around $100 is what Im hearing about pricing too.
tyree Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 "Again, what are the prices?BTW, Mr. Money bags Tyree, I plan on buying season tickets, but would like to know the price schedule and others have asked me to find out as well.I'll buy the price range that fits my budget"...and you should. I didn't mean to imply otherwise. What I was really referencing and what sticks with me after all these years was the very last game played at Lamar...versus McNeese...rumors and reports had surfaced that cancellation of the program was a possibility. A well publicized call went out to the community to show support at that last game. Save the program we heard. While its true, the weather was bad that day, the response from the public was poor. That last team was a run and shoot offensive team that was fun to watch...a .500 team with 22 lettermen coming back, that never got the chance. And we lost football at Lamar. If the community fails to support football with their attendance, then I suspect the long run prospect for a successful football program will not be good. I think LU will price tickets in a way that will encourage attendance...but your question is a good one, and certainly I didn't to mean to make light of it...financial expenditures are particularly difficult in this current economy.
Guest coachacola Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 From the October 27th meeting of the Faculty and Staff Academic Council:
Ticket prices have changed. They will cost $12.00, $35.00, and $50.00. Faculty and staff will be given general admission tickets free with LU ID. More information will be forthcoming.
I guess $12 for general admission, $35 and $50 for reserved tickets?http://dept.lamar.edu/committees/minutes_detail.asp?committee=44&ID=1049
ForeverADog Posted January 7, 2010 Author Report Posted January 7, 2010 The press conference today is just to announce to the public tickets will go on sale on January 23. Sounds like bad timing to announce that. Everyone is worried about Texas Football. Not Lamar Football.
Guest coachacola Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010
Fans can purchase season tickets in four different price and seating location categories. Two premium seating options are available and require a three-year commitment with pricing at $225 and $400 per seat, per season. Premium seating tickets include a donation to the Cardinal Club that is partially tax deductible.Additionally, two very affordable options of $60 or $100 per seat for the six-game package are available without a donation to the Cardinal Club.Season priority parking and tailgating privileges will also be for sale in four price and location categories.
