4.   Sante Fe
5.   Angleton
6.   Magnolia
7.   GC Memorial
8.   El Campo
9.   Kingwood Park

What the ? Go GCM!
In 2008 BH was ranked 2nd in the STATE so believe me those polls do not mean a lot. The Goose does not have reliable pitching for one thing even their own coach says so.

Care to post a link to that quote from Coach Rupp?
I am going to go out on a limb and say you cannot. Pitching was inconsistent last year. Guess what? That was last year! Did not seem to have a problem shutting down that BH squad at GCM last year.

[/quote  That was just luck and you and I both know it, BH was not on that night and the pitcher gave you that game. I noticed you didn't repeat that when you faced us at home. And by the way Coach Rupp told me that personally.

I know BH lost. That's what I know.
I know you had a team full of Seniors. That's what I know.
I know your all-star line-up got shut down by a SOPHOMORE! That's what I know.

As for Game 2 at BH. You guy's got lucky.

Buckle up! It's going to be a bumpy ride!

And while we are on the subject, please list all of the returning Varsity experienced pitchers for the Hill this year. I mean someone who has more than one start in a tournament in Vidor. Please do not mention any summer team affiliations either. Just list those players that pitched for BH on a consistent, or reliable if you wish, basis for the Eagles varsity last Spring.  My over/under is at 1.

When you played at BH the score was 13-5 and we went thru your pitchers like water, with a few homeruns, quite the spanking

You guys on the Hill might want to set aside some of that "football turf" money for your baseball facility improvements. I have a feeling you might need to construct a fall-out shelter from all the BOMBS that are about to be dropped on your pitching staff this year.

As for last years game at BH. Yep. Ya'll lit up a freshman and another soph. Not bad for that SR laiden line-up. Maybe ya'll can play a JV schedule in basball this year too.

Can we just all get along, hey I know one pitcher for GCM yall did'nt see last year that I know will shut almost all great hitters down,I'll give you a hint.He plays the number 5 position for the pats. And yes The hill has a nice pitching staff as so does GCM and yes "IF" Rupp said it, he might be right about the inconsistency in his pitching staff, but they were young with no varsity experiance last year.So dust off your leaving early from work excuses and meet me at a diamond around the Baytown area and watch some ball.GUYS baseball season is here and I would like to start off by saying good luck to all my lil homies that play for GCM,The Hill,Sterling and at Lee....
Are you talking about #4 Alex, Great Kid wish him the best. BH also has a pitcher who is a senior this year but did not get to play last year due to a injury and he is quite good.

Price Jacobs pitched the first game and we all know he is good, plays for the Sundevils and Butler started the second game who was a Jr last year, who has also played select most of his life. I doubt you drop any bombs on us, you were lucky to got the dinks you did.
Butler got toasted that night. It happens. Your guys will find out what that feels like soon enough. Might want to load up on sports balm and Advil. I've heard those whiplash injuries can be painful.

BH has played more playoff games than this whole district has had regular district games combined
And...............? I would bet percentage wise, Kingwood Park has a higher ratio than the Hill. What point are you trying to prove?

Two reasons GCM beat BH last year (my opinion) ;D

1. GCM had a young team, new program, no Seniors.
2. BH underestimated GCM and went into that first game thinking it was in the bag due to #1.

BH needs to quit thinking like that and I have no doubt GCM will be and improved team this year.  As with BH, I am sure most of them have been playing Select Ball and have improved. We will see in a few weeks.

It's the new Year and I don't see much activity on the board about everybodys teams. I don't know how good Barbers Hill will be this year with losing so many starters. I do know there are alot of talented players in Barbers Hill ISD. Who are your picks for 19-4a and why and who are your picks to lead the Golden Triangle and why. Lets get some chat going about your teams.

Barbers Hill will be at the TOP in 19-4a.
Wishful thinking. BH will finish 3rd or 4th behind KP, GCM, and Crosby. CE King might just knock the Hill out of the picture all together.

15 more days! Finally!

Rumor is that they have one or two new kids that transferred in this year.  Pretty sure one of them is a pitcher.  I'll try to confirm.

    • It’s behind a paywall but here’s Baytown Sun’s story on it.  It was reported on in other papers statewide so if you search by the date I think you’ll find other stories on it. UIL strengthens student transfer rules By Ron McDowell [email protected] Oct 18, 2024   In order to maintain a level playing field for all member schools, the University Interscholastic League strengthened rules regarding transfer student eligibility at its most recent meeting in Austin. Every year thousands of students transfer schools in the state of Texas. A student’s ability to participate in UIL sanctioned activities may be limited base on the reasons for the transfer. A change in family status, work transfers, enrollment in an academic magnet program, or a move across town, receive scrutiny, but only rarely does one of these reasons result in the loss of eligibility. The only reason to automatically cause the loss of participation eligibility is a transfer for athletic purposes. The current rule, which has been in place since 1981, does not require a Previous Athletic Participation Form (PAPFs) to be submitted if the student-athlete does not participate in a varsity level sport during the first year of enrollment. There has been growing concern among some member schools, that other members are breaking the current rule and creating “super teams” with new transfer enrollees, and that the UIL is not doing enough to police, what appear to be, the inordinate number of transfers among high school athletes. To mitigate these concerns, the UIL approved a proposal to expand the power of the State Executive Committee (SEC) and allow it to investigate schools based upon the number of PAPFs submitted. Schools that submit an inordinate number of PAPFs would face heightened scrutiny and possible public reprimand and future sanctions. The UIL has also changed the requirements for PAPF submission, mandating that the form be submitted before a grade 9-12 transfer student may participate at any level of school athletics. This is a marked departure from the current policy which encourages schools not to complete PAPFs for students who transfer in, if the school believes that the student will not play a varsity sport in the first year the student is enrolled at the new school. Some critics of the current system think that the change doesn’t go far enough. Speaking on background, one local school district source suggested that there should be an automatic year wait for transfer students due to the number of loopholes in the waiver process. “If a student transfers, it should be a year out of competition automatically,” the source said. In addition, the UIL also approved a proposal that gives the SEC the power to appoint an independent administrator to oversee the conduct of the local District Executive Committee (DEC) if it is determined that the DEC is not consistently enforcing the rules of the governing body. The change is significant since all appeals that a school brings, starts and usually ends with the DEC. That includes the determination of transfer student eligibility. It is believed that with the implementation of this change, schools in a UIL district will be less likely to face retribution from the DEC chair and other members. • I was hoping WOS was going to win. To get another chance to redeem ourself. Silsbee did not look good in that game and has not played consistent during the season. Hopefully against La Vega they will play 4quarters of football
