I have noticed over the four years that I have religiously watched my daughter's  volleyball games (junior high, JV, Varsity and select) volleyball people really don't have a sense of humor.  I guess there is a rule about that similar to the ones governing rotation or lifts. :-*

Maybe not between opposing teams but go watch and see how the girls slam on the court to dig out a ball. I have seen players with bruises up and down their arms and legs. Plus I know several football teams who are amazed on the off-season conditioning a few of the volleyball teams go through.

Thats no joke football players couldnt last in off season conditioning for volleyball been there done that you have to have the heart to play or you wont last guys always compain that girls get to play inside so what? not all gyms have air conditioning and the heat stays inside the gym with body heat and people talking just adds more its an intense sport till you try it dont complain because you have no idea what kind of athlete it takes to be a good volleyball player.

I agree with volleyballer, the conditioning that these kids go through is one of the toughest I've seen. Yes , I played football , basketball , baseball and ran track so I do know a little about the conditioning that the guys go through before anybody says I don't. These kids on Volleyball teams have to have superb reaction times and they have to be in great shape to do so physically and mentally. Front row players not only have to be strong but have the ability to leap , back row players have to be strong and have the ability to hit the floor and pop back up like a cork after they make the play. All of this being done while thinking of where the ball might be when it comes back at them so they can react to that,no timing patterns,no practiced plays(so to speak), just reaction to the action with the ability to make something out of it.
