Alot of talent...Not to wish ill on anyone but I hope it is an injury and not a young talent slipping through the cracks.  He can flat play but needs to get the attitude in check.  I hope to get to see him play some more this year.

Soulja, it is headline news when a player in any sport, in any district, in any state sucker punches another player like that! especially when caught on video. It was deliberate act and evil!

Only last month, ESPN repeatedly showed a female soccer player playing dirty and pulling another players hair. It was NATIONAL news. She was not in the BISD.

BMT SOULJA - High school girls and boys play each other in basketball every Friday night for about 4 months. What's the news? The fact a fight (a single cheap shot) broke out. Sometimes sportsguys don't write the "news teases" before the commercial break before sportscasts. Producers or news anchors do it themselves.

I was coming back from the game when the argument of "what to tease" was happening here at Channel 6. Here's a behind the scenes!

There could have been a better way to phrase "the tease"... if I was the producer at the time I would have said "next in sports, First place on the line between two cross-town rivals and the situation got a little overheated...who won and who threw in more than the towe after the game"

Alex suggested - - "a fight, a marraige proposal, and two excellent basketball games all in one gym... see it all during sports after this break." He was overruled by the producer because that person wanted to tease a fight..."at a game....blah blah"

I can go both ways. It is what it is.

[/quote]I don't know whose idea it was to introduce this rivalry with 'a fight broke out'.  I'm just going on what I saw on the news about 10:24 PM last night.  It made me very upset...  But hey, that's just one man's opinion, right?  It don't really matter.  It just had me thinking back a few years ago when Central and Ozen played at the Gamble classic.  There was a Melee, although the game was clearly over in the 4th.  There was also another Melee back when Perkins played for Ozen.  Punches were thrown.  Strange not a lot of pople remember that.  But this happens and this Marquee matchup is introduced in this way.  Like I said, I'm willing to bet if it were any other two teams in this area, their game would not have been introduced this way.  You see, this is probably the reason that the Big Sandy guy is spouting off.  He probably have not even been to Beaumont or not once met our kids.  Just going by the newscasts...

On any level of news from local to ESPN and national the fight will be the lead. Just today ESPN did a cut in of a girls fight that broke out before the Georgetown, Louisville game. For the most part people are drawn to that stuff it's just human nature and makes you want to see more.

Any other game, I would ageee with you.  As if you need any other incentive to want to know the outcome of a game that features the City Rivalry with one team not beating this team in this decade.  I don't think that by screaming 'fight, fight' is what you needed to attract more viewers.  Let's just scream fight on any boring sports day then...
