BoboandBlair Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Newton should be included on any list, most likely #1.If you are going back 10 years you can drop West Brook and add Kirbyville too.
badndn Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 WOS #1??Have you been paying attention?#1 Dayton - Model of consistency including State title game last year. Neutral#2 Newton - Allways a threat in November. Neutral#3 Kirbyville - With the bulk of that in the past four years (Two state title appearences does that for ya) Rise#4 Jasper - How quickly you folks forget the great State title game against Gilmer a few years back. Rise#5 WOS - And dropping. Fall#6 Nederland - Great area team, just haven't made it all the way.Neutral#7 West Brook - Moving up with the past five years. Previous five not so much! Rise#8 East Chambers - The Thomas era was pretty good.Fall#9 PNG - Up and down the past 10, but there were a few DC's and two and three round seasons and the future looks good. Rise#10 Silsbee - Up and down. Rise
BoboandBlair Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010
WOS will be back in 2010
We keep hearing this on a yearly basis. They were suppose to be the real deal last year, but weren't. IMO WOS days of a state title participant are well over, esp. with the 3A numbers steadily going up, and once-mighty 4A's dropping down.WOS will be a perrennial 3rd/4th round participant before bowing out to a team they should beat.
WeedBegone Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 A team loaded with talent in the last 7-years that refuses for various reasons to get on the rise is PAM. Time could run out for them if they dont get it together as a Team, Fans, and coaches. They have great new facilities and if they use them they may get there. Badndn, you acknowledged Nederland, but I believe Central is more on the rise and will present big problems for you guys.
TexazBall Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 Dayton has good History bandan, But Newton is the king right now ,And Your right about W.O.S..I dont htink thier number 1.1.Newton *Even had 4a and 5a teams scared to play them* Rise2.Dayton *Consitant every year* Rise3.Jasper *One of the best teams in SETX the last 10 yrs* Risel4.W.O.S *Hopefully they get that good set of ATH WOS is known for* IDK5.Nederland *Best Programs in the Area* Netural6.Central *Agree with D3zii..Very Underrated* Rise7.West Brook *Best Team in the Area Last 5 yrs* Rise8.Kirbyville *2 state Title Apperacnes, but this is the last 10 yrs* Rise

Bucof2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 Very nice ndnI think some of you are using only the past year or two1. WOS in the past ten years no one has consistently beat them one person said they'll always go three or four rounds deep and lose I'd say that's pretty goodTHE MIDGET RB WILL SURPRISE NEUTRAL 2. Newton just as successful as WOS but smaller classification is deciding factor and head to head I'm guessing goes to WOS NEVER CHANGE3. Dayton pretty much owns two 4a districts not as consistent playoff success as the two prior. NEUTRAL4. Central guess they're the perrenial sleeper cause they get little respect on here UP5. Silsbee only team that interests us when they play WOS in district UP

Bucof2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Wow I thought silsbee would've had better seasons than that hard to argue fact lolIm not sure Dayton wont fall off a little this coming year they've had amazing talent graduate the past two years and it can't stay that high forever
PURPLE 4EVER Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Just ask Nederland how good Dayton's freshmen class is...There will be a lot of young line men step up next year at Dayton, but the skills positions on offense (with exception of Peyton) is basically all returning.Lots of sophomores played a lot last year.
