What Player and Coach would you choose???

If you can take 1 player and 1 coach In Setx only too build a team, who would you choose?

I would take Coach Joubert and Devin Bray. Joubert has proven to be 1 of the hottest and best coaches around. I mean how can you argue with his resume. For as the player "Devin Bray" It would be so easily to build a team around him. He is the #1 rated player in out area soo that's a no brainer. I mean what can't he do. if Kountze wind state this year he would have more rings than any other current player in Setx. Same for Joub.

Bray is very good.  However, in answer to your question,  "What can't he do"?  He doesn't seem to be able to stay out of foul trouble in big games.  He also sometimes loses control of his emotions. I would fully expect for this response to get deleted but I dont mind because facts are facts.

I've watched Walker for years and he would definitely be a good #1 pick to build a team around.Brey has a tremendous up side but isn't the kind of player you would build around. The Ricossa kid from HJ is another one I would take in a heart beat.If you're gonna build a team you need kids that understand the game and watching Ricossa is like having another coach on the floor.I would take Sutherland as my coach but Duane wouldn't last long on a draft board either.

I hope you are as kind to Coach Joubert when he decides to move up as you are now in this hypothetical exercise.

Hj gets lucky again. I just got bad news that star point guard Phil Hill is inegible for the Tigers. D.C is already out. He's struggling to get his ankles healthy. Seems like Hj should get the win with Silsbee best 2 players out. But u never know, that's why they play the game

HJ doesn't have a chance.  It has already been well established by an expert (maybe 3 experts) that HJ has a point guard who will lead the district in turnovers, a shooting guard who "just stand there" and incompetent alley oopers that are classless and a weak coaching staff.  If thats not a recipe for a guaranteed loss to Silsbee, I don't know what is.

No one is lucky for that, I hope he gets better soon.

You are way late and not too accurate with this post.

I posted before the game last night that Pheal (not Phil) Hill would be out for 6 games due to grades. This was discussed after the game as well last night on the game thread.

Here's the thread:

BTW, Pheal is not Silsbee's point guard, D.C. is. ;)

Also, D.C. isn't out. He has played the last 3 games for Silsbee against WOS, BC and Orangefield. D.C. had 7 points and 11 rebounds last night playing just about the entire game.

Swag, you may know about Kountze hoops, but you lack in knowledge elsewhere.

Knowledge is not one of his strong points....I would take Sutherland and Ricossa, Turner, and R. Walker...sorry cant just pick one.
In other words, "Why have a good team, when you can have a great team, eh?" I mean, as long as its my dream, I should pick the rules.

I never had much patience with my boys and grades. There is no excuse for that.It all comes down to priorities. You gotta hit the books and you know which ones are in danger these days when the progress reports come out.You have to really feel for the ones that are working hard on and off the court and the team is what's going to suffer.

Walker and Joubert

Hard to choose between Joubert and Sutherland

Unless I missed somthing the player from Silsbee should be able to regain eligibility in three weeks

Hill will be back for the last two district games, HF @ Silsbee, HJ @ HJ and then the playoffs. Pheal will miss @ HF, HJ @ Silsbee, WOS @ Silsbee, BC @ Silsbee and @ Orangefield along with already missing last Friday night's game at home against Orangefield which was a Tiger victory.

I'm not a fan of Hj but if they can win this district I think they would be in Atx come March. If Hj wins in Silsbee nxt Fri I think they would handle their business at Home. Its hard to beat the Hawks there for several reasons. Silsbee, yall are in trouble. Big time!!!

    • I too, wish #15 was healthy and playing.  And also another RB (can't recall the #), who went down in the first game of the season. But, some others have stepped up and are hard runners.  I'm really looking forward to watching this game.
    • Still, from what little I saw, it should have been a much closer game.  WOS was missing some fundamentals on defense, and a lack of imaginative play calling on offense.  Just my opinion as an objective observer on Texan Live, which was horrible btw, but that's another story.
    • Either way,one game lead in the series. I rely to much on word of mouth
    • West Orange Stark has been a powerhouse since I csn remember. At some point, your bound to fall off to some degree. Alabama has 3 or 4 loses this season. Who would have thought? Has Orange lost kids to LCM or even Orangefield?
    • Interesting matchup this Friday. Both teams have very good offensive and defensive lines, which will make this game interesting. Having watched Texas High all season, they have a wide open offense with very good skill players. If you look at their stats they run the ball 57% of the time and pass 43% of the time. Personally, that is a bit deceiving, as most of their games have seen reserves running the ball in the 4th quarter. I would estimate the primary offense is 50/50. Through 12 games they have run for 3,224 yds (48tds) and passed for 2,894 yds (32 yds). Potter, the Tiger QB, has been very efficient with a 69% completion rate and 1 interception (which came from a tipped pass). The passing is distributed primarily to 4 receivers…. Ball (865), Wrightner (811), Montgomery (532), & Pilgreen (392). The rushing comes from 3 running backs … Johnson (1,432), Ball (768) & Moore (716).  The Tiger defense is solid and very quick.    Hope #15 is healthy enough to play. He is a test for any defense. I was concerned about the Nederland RB, but felt Texas High did a good job containing him. I wish this game was in the afternoon, as Nachitoches is having their Festival of Lights and their will not be any rooms in the inns and restaurants will be full so plan accordingly. PNG are state champions until someone knocks them off, so I extend the Indians the respect they deserve. Pulling for the Tigers.
