Eagles2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Woodville wins this one 59-54. Playoff type atmosphere there at the end. Woodville was up 30-20 at the break. Woodville was outscored 14-8 in the 3rd making it 38-34 going into the final quarter. SA got two quick buckets to tie it up and they traded baskets to the end of the game. With about 30 seconds or so left, the game was tied at 50 and Woodville guard Darren Sells got an and one call. Then a player from SA got a tech. Sells was clutch and knocked down all three free throws and then Woodville got another bucket and made it 57-50. Then with 11 seconds to go, a player from Woodville got a tech after foul called on Woodville. SA was in the double bonus already and #10 was very clutch and knocked down all four free throws. SA had a chance to tie it up but Woodville's Darren Sells was there to steal it and take in for the knockout blow scoring Woodville's last 7 of 9 in a matter of 20 seconds. My evaluation is SA has no post play. #10 is their entire offense and neither team has much depth. Very good game and it will be a showdown in SA in a few weeks. And to "mmccary," I guess we brought it more than you thought huh? See ya in SA
mmccary Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 With a team with no post play and no depth sounds like they hung in there pretty good in Woodville. Different story once yall boys come to SA.... Good luck and congrats on the win.
Eagles2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Author Report Posted January 23, 2010 You're right but weren't they supposed play good with Woodville, post play or not? The spread was only 2. This was a good game, as expected, and I was just giving my analysis of SA. I had never seen them play before. Guess we will see you in SA then
mmccary Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 It wasnt a blow out and from your review of the game looked pretty close? So im thinking they played them pretty well.
Eagles2010 Posted January 23, 2010 Author Report Posted January 23, 2010 Who said anything about in a blowout? I said it was supposed to be a good game and it lived up to the hype. I said it was a good game
ballerforchrist Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 It was a hard well played ball game between the two teams, and just leave it at that guys. SA has a good ball club, and Coach Barnes is doing a good job with those guys. They play hard for him, and puts them in good situations to be successful. Just let the game speak for itself and leave it at that. Good job by both teams and it was an enjoyable game to watch.
mmccary Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 From what im hearing, SA only made 5 of 17 FT.
Eagles2010 Posted January 24, 2010 Author Report Posted January 24, 2010 Oh my goodness, yall lost. Get over it. It was a good game that was fun to watch. Quit trying to look for an excuse to why SA lost. They weren't 5 for 17 I know for sure because they hit 4 in a row with 10 seconds left and I know they made more than one the rest of the game. Guess you heard wrong.
