Guest coachacola Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 [quote]The Lamar University women's basketball team will attempt to strengthen its hold on first place in the West Division of the Southland Conference when it travels to San Marcos, Texas, to take on Texas State at 4 p.m. Saturday.Lamar (14-4 overall, 4-0 conference is looking for its second 5-0 conference start in the last three seasons. The Lady Cards are coming off a 69-63 home win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday. Lamar is a half-game ahead of UTSA (3-0) and one game ahead of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3-1) in the West Division standings. LumberCard Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 No contest today. Loyd scored 28 and the Lady Cards blasted the kittens by 20+.How quickly the "power" team in the women's conference fell from grace.Thet had one amazing player and she was everything for them two years ago. They got roled int he SLC tourney the year the Lady Cards went to the final, and have been putrid ever since. Suzanne Fox isn't a very good coach, IMO, and it is showing.Great job Lady Cards. 5-0 in conference. Keep it going!
UNLV Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 A few more wins without a loss should get them top 25 points.
Guest coachacola Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Their RPI is abut 96 now, but since the SLC is pretty weak it'll be hard for them to improve on that too much more. I'll be happy with a NCAA berth and a decent seed for them.http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_sland_Women.html

Guest mffl Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 I don't think they've done enough on the national level to be ranked in the top 25, but if they keep doing what they are doing, then they will get there.

Just like Lamar, they have a good record versus against average to below average teams. It amazes me how you all hold Lamar to a different standard then other schools. The "we can't have better let someone else have better attitude"
