Here's my two cents, if it means anything.  If I were a coach (which hopefully I will be one day) I would probably never let up in a game.  Games are meant to be won, so I would do everything, legally, to win.  If a team couldn't stop my 1st stringers for 4 quarters, it's not my fault.  People are too soft nowadays, they can't handle defeat.  Take the beating like a man, and admit you're team doesn't compare to the other.

I fear you will have a short coaching career with that strategy

That was pretty low hill Guy but I understand people from By may not have experienced being on the positive side of a big win

Forgive my poor country-bumpkin reasoning, but how was that "low"...it sounded like this aspiring young coach wannabe's strategy will be to pile up as many points as possible, regardless of the situation...did you not read the same sentence I did?  "If a team couldn't stop my 1st stringers for 4 quarters, it's not my fault."

So whose fault would it be?
Yours! Get your boys ready!!!! I'm from the ol'skool of hard knocks. If I get my behind beat, that means I have to go back to the lab (gym)and get better prepared for the next encounter.

Winning and winning big has never bothered me whether I was getting beat or doing the beating.  Been on both sides of it.
I thought losing should make you better. But I guess some focus on the losing instead of getting better

Well first off I plan to pursue coaching in a different sports where it's a little easier to keep all the starters in for the length of the game, and there's a mercy rule too.  I've been apart of embarrassing games on both sides, and I had no problem with either.
