ForeverADog Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 I think we should have one of the best pitching staffs in the league, its just a matter of the bats coming through.
Guest baseball25 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 I just wish they had a harder schedule, i mean there first 12 out of 13 games are eassssssssssy, Rice is there only ranked opponent, go look at utsa, sam houston, texas st, se la and heck even UTA schedule thats why they have been putting together good seasons lately.

Javelina Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 37 home games18 Away games2 out of conference away games both in HoustonLooks like pride is getting in the way of a good schedule to me but that is just from the outside looking in.
Guest baseball25 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 all gilligan wants is WINS on his overall RECORD NOW.........bush league..
ForeverADog Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 I think so. I'm friends with several players who say he just sits in the dugout at practice. He doesn't coach anymore. Just puts a lineup together of some of his favorite players. Just my opinion.
Guest baseball25 Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Yep, and he just cares about him now he doesn't care about the program, if he cared about the program he would go play at TEXAS, AGGIES,LSU and etc but he's hard headed
becktobigs Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010
Is it about time for Gilligan to go?
Oh for the days of David Perkins...... Gilligan is the program.
time2time Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Inconsistant logic . . . All he cares about are wins . . . then followed by he only plays his favorites. Don't you think if he only cared about winning he would play the players that gave him the best chance to win. So if by "his favorites" you meant the players that gave the team the best chance to win, then yes I would agree. When I hear things like this I think it must only come from someone who is not a regular starter. Because no starter would ever say, "I only play/start because I'm one of Coach G's favorites, I really don't belong on the field!"

I don't know why he comes up with a soft schedule like that. Maybe the extra home games will generate more money for the program. Im not sure. And the players that are telling me this are starting fielders talking about a few pitchers who they say suck up to Gilligan all the time and get to pitch plenty of innings despite their ERA of over 6.00 while others are sitting in the bullpen with ERA's closer 3.50. That is basic logic that the one who allows less runs should be the one pitching.
