Guest Burkeville Chronicle Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 First day of practice for the Mustangs...had to practice in the gym because "the launching pad" was too wet. The mustangs had a good number...enough for a JV squad for the first time in the history of Burkeville baseball. Good luck Stangs!!

Coach Rose told the community that since the field is indeed so unique then they need to showcase the uniqueness until a new field can be built. (Many want to keep the field because it makes games so exciting and high scoring) It is currently in the process of an extreme makeover........Mustang Park is without a doubt a one of a kind field ...300 to dead center...360 to left....and 250 to right! The distances are the reason many have named it "the launching pad". One man recently told me that Mustang Park is "where pitchers pray for graduation". lol..that is awesome.
