Gabe Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Teams in this area not playing other teams in this area in non-district first. The local teams vs. local teams keeps the $$ in our area, keeps the drives shorter for fans, lets the players get back early and the list goes on and on. There are plenty of examples of this going on these days and it is getting pretty old.

Rebel Yeller Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 So how far is too far to travel for a non-district game in your opinion? There are only 2 5A teams in the area and I believe that they both play at least two area 4A'sThe 4A district has seven district games in the area (Livingston is some distrance, but it still district)The 3A districts are now north and south in their orientation and a couple of them play some area 2A teamsThe 2A district is in the same shape as the 4A district so they play in the area for 7 of 10 gamesThe 1A districts play their share of area 2A's, 1A's from the other division and several of the private schools in the areaCould you be a bit more specific on which teams you are tired of scheduling outside the area?

Gabe Posted February 2, 2010 Author Report Posted February 2, 2010 That's an easy cop out in my book. Why doesn't PNG play Memorial for instance? Nederland vs. PAM. WO-S vs. PNG. WOS vs. Vidor. Kirbyville vs either Mid-County school. There are a ton of examples what could be played in our area. Coaches are going to get scouting reports on every game and even video.
