Weather forecast scrubs Seahawks' softball opener

Heavy rain forecast for Thursday morning in the Golden Triangle had one effect before the first raindrops hit the ground.

The projected weather report scrubbed Lamar State College-Port Arthur's season-opening Thursday home doubleheader against Temple College.

Instead, the Seahawks will kickoff their season Friday, February 12, at the two-day Cowtown Classic Softball Tournament in Fort Worth.

Lamar State will play Midland College and Ranger College before bracket play begins Saturday.

The Seahawks' schedule now includes five games at the Feb. 26-27 Temple College Tournament.
