Although Texas's losses are against ranked teams, does this many losses in conference hurt their chance in the Big Dance?
depends on how you look at it... they don't have any losses against bad teams, and they have some wins against good teams, so they're pretty much a lock for the big dance with just a few more wins...  but all of these losses DO hurt in the fact that their seed is going to drop significantly.  4 weeks ago they were a shoo-in for a #1 seed, but now they're probably a #5 or #6.

Seedings don't mean that much to me. I figure that if we are going to win it all, we have to put a string of wins together. Whether we start out playing the easier teams or not, eventually we will have to play the better ones, so if we're going to do it, just do it. I don't care about just making the sweet sixteen.

Does anyone think we have been losing from a coaching standpoint?....I mean the motivational stuff like a kick in the rear! You can't think that you are great, go out just go through the motions and expect to win. You have to be dedicated and focused.

Not motivational... More like X's and o's!!  Coach Barnes hasn't given these kids the appropiate offensive direction.  He seems lost on creating a successful offense.  He is trying to run the same offense he had with DGib and Abrams in the back court... Big difference is that those kids could both shoot and Aldridge and Tucker gave them alot on the interior... It was working early on with Pittman, but now that he is playing like a wuss!!

Hamilton Dribbles into the defense or takes wildly bad shots!! I would not even give him the ball unless he was open and ready to  gun!  Then he tried to pass when he was at the rim and got a TO.  Balbay was just throwing stuff at the rim, Pittman would not leave his toes, Mason would not shoot, Johnson was not as aggressive as usual, Lucas looked like a high schooler, Bradely was off, and everyone not named Brown and James was terrified of the double team!

What was worst is that nobody rotated and made themselves available for the kick out pass when a big was doubled.... Thats X's and O's!
seeding does make a difference.I'd rather play a Lamar University than U-Conn in the 1st round.

Why?? If you're scared you can't whip Uconn in the 1st round, what makes you think you can do it later? Plus you wouldn't have made that Lamar statement back in the 80's. Whoever you play, you have to beat. This week, next week, it doesn't matter, you just have to win.

the more top-notch teams you have to play in the tourney, the more likely you are to get beat.  I'd much rather Texas' first two games be against a 16 and a 9  than an 8 and a 1.
Thank you! Plus you don't want to wear down your players in the early rounds with tough OT games and you haven't made it to the Final 8

Making it to the Elite Eight is not bragging rights if you are set on winning it all.

You beat the top teams first, then you coast through your bracket.
