No - if we do that I'll have to get off the forum.

And we don't want that tigersvoice.  It wouldn't be the same without you.

I was very impressed with Brittany Scott when she played Silsbee.  But my heart lies with Ang and Brandi.  I think they are definitely the best duo.

Let put this subject to rest. I will settle it for once and for all. There are a lot of good players from this area. There you go, its done. :)

Guest bleed orange

All the girls mentioned on this thread are good, each has their own special gift. Most people will choose a young lady from the team in which they support. I could not do that because there are several good players from Orangefield and picking one would not be fair to the others. Each kid brings something different to the table. Just about every girl mentioned on this thread, I know and they are all wonderful and respectful young ladies.

This post was started on October 5th, so it was really a pre-season "who do THINK is going to be the best" poll.  I held my tongue (or fingers) until the front runners had a chance to prove themselves again this year. After having a chance to see most of the quality players in the area at least once, I think the best all around player is definately Chelsa Pickering of Lumberton.

There are many extremely good players in the golden triangle area, but this young lady is a more COMPLETE player than anyone I've seen this year. Poise, offense, defense, court awareness, knowledge of the game, leadership, and a sense that everyone in the gym (on both sides) knows that she is in complete control of the game make her (IMO) the best player in the area. A pure athlete.

I'm not sure what Chelsa's stats are for the year...but you get the feeling that they could really be whatever she wanted them to be.

I'm sure the Lumberton mailman in her neighborhood will be glad when she chooses a college so his load will be lightened from all of the offers arriving in the mail.  Good luck Chelsa.

What offers has she received so far?  I haven't seen anything on this forum about her prospects.    What about the other outstanding players.... what schools are looking at them... and are they considering.

I'm not a Lumberton Raider fan and do not know Chelsa or her family. I have no insight to her personal life or know of any rock solid offer from colleges to her...I'm just a sports fan that recognizes a stellar athlete and know that there has to be many college coaches slobbering all over themselves about a talent like this being out there uncommitted. Maybe someone out there close to the Lumberton program can shine some light on this for us.

You raised some good questions though...sounds like the makings for a new thread!

I have to agree with Slam 14, Chelsea Pickering is AWESOME !! There is nothing that she can't do. She can dribble, pass and shoot from in and out ! Plus, the girl can play some good "D". Not to mention the fact that she is a great Leader and she never seems to get rattled. I also think she can do whatever her team needs her to do depending on the game. If she needs to score she can, if the team needs her defense she can! If her team needs her to dish out assisits she can do that as well. No weak part to this young ladies game !

    • That should tell everyone something pretty clearly. Does anyone really think BH is recruiting elementary kids, to get them to transfer in Jr. high? Seriously? Here is the "dirty little secret" about BH: Most people move to the district for a quality living environment to raise their young family, and benefit from the outstanding acedemics at BH. Even If all athlectics suddenly disappeared from BH, people would still want their kids in the district. If thats not enough to convince anyone, and BH really was determined to recruit, first step would be to have open enrollemnt. It is closed.        Yes, I get it, no one ever wants to give BH the benefit of the doubt on anything. Some of the accusations are beyond ridiculous though. This paranoia the BH critics are afflicted with is not just sad, its flat out laughable.
    • Opting is always an option. Are they considering any BC assistants? Highly qualified after that season they put up.
    • Be that as it may, only time will tell. Hide and watch. Don’t be surprised if the next HC hire uses his own recipe. That happens more than not historically. I am not arguing the point that Hooks & CT had a winning combination that could’ve been carried over. I’m saying that finding someone to do that is not going to be as easy as one might think. Tell me again why Saban’s replacement, who even has Saban’s assistance if he wants it, just lost another game to an unranked team and has taken the Tide out of playoff contention? Why wouldn’t he just follow the success of possibly the greatest college football coach ever lived?
    • We've acknowledged having 2 HOF coaches hasn't been like most other schools. So why everyone jumps to the conclusion it wouldn't work here is beyond my comprehension. I see it carry over with these other hires. Gilmer, Aledo, North Shore, Austin Westlake. Next man up that continues the system in place has instant success. Matter fact there was 2 rookie HC that won the state championship the same year we handed over the keys. Same book. Same recipe. Better ingredients.
