59n Sports Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Just a wild question. Back in the day you would see highlights of guys dunking and tearing down the backboard. Who can you think of and where are they from?
FanintheStands Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Darryl Dawkins, the Original "Chocolate Thunder", of the 76'ers was the first to do it, wasn't he? I don't remember where he went to high school, but I believe he skipped college. Darryl would name his dunks, if I recall correctly.
AirForce84 Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Dawkins attended HS in Florida. I went to college with a guy who played against him in the same district and he said the guy was a beast. He was a direct to the NBA player from HS Along with Moses Malone and Bill Willoughby back in the day.
59n Sports Posted February 15, 2010 Author Report Posted February 15, 2010 Ivan " Tuffy" Williams did it in Cleveland. He went on to Texas to play football
Go-rilla Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Tuffy probably did that against silsbee. I dont think it should count though, because the goals in clevelands old gym were about to fall down anyways, and their was years of guys before him loosing it up for him.
59n Sports Posted February 17, 2010 Author Report Posted February 17, 2010 ITs still a tear down and I think it counts. He was a beast on the court.
