Agreed on the letting his pride go and doing what's best for the program. But is retirement the best for LU? This truly is Gilligans program and I think they would be in a better spot right now if they would just schedule better. The staff over at the Beck has done a great job putting together a solid program, but they are killing themselves with the schedule.

Go out and get the type of schedule Sam, UTSA, UTA and TXST are putting out there and we're in good shape. Does it mean we win as many game? Probably not, but the quality of the schedule will overcome winning 30 games a year against a puke schedule.

Not sure why he schedules the cupcakes he has no shot at becoming the all-time wins leader unless he coaches until he is 137 and keeps putting High Islands JV on the schedule.  I say suck it up Princess and go play at UT, A&M and LSU, trade some losses for a NCAA berth

But teams like A&M, Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, Oral Roberts, etc. do travel to other SLC schools.  How about getting some of those teams in Beaumont?

I do not know what type of visitor facilities other schools have, but I think before Lamar can convince upper tier conference schools to travel to BMT on a regular basis an on site locker room for the visitors would be needed.
