team first
No offense taken hj2012....H.J. losing? Not going to happen..shoot..Not the Hawks. Buttt it just did happen.....my goodness..you mean those lowly MUSTANGS! Humility goes along way buddy..remember the ole sayin, " anybody ( even the hawkies ) can be beaten, on any given night." Stamp it chief!
BMTSoulja1
This win was huge for WO-S... What's sad is that all those loud and proud WO-S football fans don't even bother to talk up their hoops team... They have a chance to take second place by beating a really good H-J team and they are in hibernating since their first round exit in football... rhino1877
True fans dont need to gloat nor belittle another team... I am proud of the way the boys played, not only for the Mustangs, but the Hawks as well. I think alot of the people are still in shock and awe from the game.... The very best I have seen in a while! BMTSoulja1
When I say talk your team up, I don't mean belittle the other team.. You know, the same thing they do in football... Why is the excitment not there for hoops? These kids are about to make the playoffs with a huge win tonight...
rhino1877
I normally dont get on here, but after I saw the way they played tonight...They had a fire in their eyes that I have never seen before. The 3 teams that come out of this district are a force!!!!!!
Lazeek
Congrats Mustangs on the win. Don't really know what to say so I won't say anything!!!!!! Blowing a 17 point........yes a 17 point lead is NOT HJ basketball!!!!!!

PoppaBearstarr
Great win WOS, yall played a great game. Congrats. #45 did a great job down low, he had two of our post players in foul trouble in the first quarter. # 3 lit it up from the outside as he usually does and #31 played great defense. Congrats again for fighting back.

AggiesAreWe
Just finished watching the replay. Congrats to Coach Don Newton and the WOS Mustangs. Great win for the Mustang basketball program.
setxslam
WOS shot the three-ball, and an awful lot of free throws, very well tonight. They hustled and scrapped and beat us. Congrats and best wishes to their seniors.Grayson had himself a 30+ point game, and played with a lot of heart. Aside from Grayson... Every HJ starter and rotation player finished the game with 4 or 5 fouls. Little Will came into the game and picked up 3 fouls in about thirty seconds. Congrats to the reffing crew on their consistency.

setxslam
I just read Von Wade's nice write-up for the Orange Leader. He says Grayson had 31. Ah, if only he'd had 33!

Guest Two-Dogs...
Soulja, I can't really understand it either. Tonight PNG played Ozen who is in 1st place in our district and there were probably only about 250 folks in the stands. You would think that a school who is in 1st place in district and a school who can muster ten thousand people for friday night lights could fill a typical 4a gymnasium. but the passion for roundball just isn't here in southeast texas. Football is king.
BMTSoulja1
You see, Ozen is a different animal. They exppect to win district. So when they are playing who they feel is a lesser team, the fans don't come out. Now, they do come out In the Central game (crosstown rivalry) and in deep playoff runs. But my point is being that over the years besides the state championship run a few years ago for WO-S, they haven't done much. And those posters on here that feel Mustang football is king in SETX don't flood on here with a huge win...

I know that i didn't mark down three points Sutherland hit in the 2nd quarter while students were walking on the court infront of us...in fact I was silenced in the recording because I couldn't see anything for 15 seconds...Regardless it was a great look on the last possession from the right wing... those would have been the 3 that mattered most. Great game and atmosphere overall.
