texasstud28 Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Guys/Gals, I willl be done with my MBA in May and was looking for an entry-level wolunteer coaching position in the Golden Triangle Area. Maybe even in Housoton or Galveston. My resume isn't spetacular ,but one good thing is my passion for indooor football and this will help our area tremenously if it happens.Rob Butler
the_dude_abides Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Not sure about wolunteer positions in Housoton, but you shouldn't need a spetacular resume to help the area tremenously as long as you have a passion for indooor football.
Speedkills Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Congrats hope you get to coach in the area

BoboandBlair Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 On a volunteer basis you need to contact one of the TAPPS schools. Strake Jesuit, St. Thomas, St. Pius or Beaumont Kelly. There are many others too. At that level, you don't have to be fully certified to volunteer or help out. Most all public schools (UIL) you have to be a certified teacher or have some training in the area of kinesiology or education to have anything to do with the kids and school affliated teams.
Coach Schrapps Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 Strake is a UIL school...and at Kelly you have to go through their Protecting God's Children Program, but that is fairly easy.

Coach Schrapps Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 If you think Public Schools don't recruit than your sadly mistaken....Hit the AAU circuit in Houston....
silentassasin Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 Can I get an amen on that last statement?Seriously, I know of kids who are getting hounded at AAU games in the 5th and 6th grades about where they are going to end up in high school.
Coach Schrapps Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 It really is ridiculous AAU has become so corrupt with coaches getting paid big dollars and kids getting pulled in every direction.
