If theyre worried about it they can test within their own programs and probably be more effective than the state doing it

In GCCISD, we drug test a "sample" of all students involved in extra-cirricular activites as well as those who wish to have a campus parking permit. (And no, not all of the students in GCCISD are on drugs)

So you know that these "drug tests" that the school does not test for steroids right.  the random drug tests that the school pays for  students in extra curricular activities only shows mary J, Coke, and prescription drugs (bars).  they will not show Steroids!!!!!!
Steroid test are very expensive and can be inaccurate. Many of these ingredients in steroids are found in health drinks and supplements.  Another problem is they can't be biased to who they test.  Extra curricular activities also include band, UIL, ect.  they have to equally tested just like the football team and power lifting team.
Since it cost so much they really just don't do them.  The kids are tricked. The sign a steroid sheet saying they can be tested but really the "drug test" does not show it.

"Steroids" are not considered a drug of abuse.  That is why when you go to drug test for a job etc. you're only tested for marijuana, cocaine, heroin, amphetamine, and methamphetamine etc.  Yes, testing for steroids is expensive (usually involves blood tests) but they do make simple and inexpensive tests for that.  Problem is there are so many different types of steroids to test for.  I wouldn't say they are tricked in to doing anything.  Unfortunately in today's society they have the option to either use illegal drugs or not.

Yes. I understand. The school has the option to also test for ANY illegal substance if necessary.

This is GCCISD's policy:

Millions of dollars saved on what local districts should have the option to do themselves.  Many districts already were doing this more effectively than the state ever could before the silly law was passed.  The number of positives was so small it almost seemed fishy.

I think that even though they say its "ramdom" testing its funny to me that the students (or football stars) that everyone knows does drugs doesn't get tested all throughout high school but another football player that is know NOT to do drugs gets tested every year since the 7th grade.  Just seems a little funny to me. If its so random how come his name comes up every year and the other one never does??????
