AJ25 Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 It's probably the 4th or 5th straight Celtics game that I've seen on ESPN, and every game the commentators are raving about him. Toughest/Most underrated player in the game. How many years until he final gets an All-Star nod?
ForeverADog Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 I can agree he is under rated. But still he is the 5th best player on that team. No team will ever have 5 players on the all-star team. Plus he isn't much of a stat guy. He does a lot of dirty work on defense and on the glass that is often over-looked on stat sheets. Its great for the Celtics but not great for the fans to vote for you. Plus he isn't very outspoken or a leader to get extra publicity like Shaq or Dwight Howard. Still he is a great player!
Bucof2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 He's awesome stat wise best offensive center in league (highest fg % in league ) but it takes a personality to be an allstar and perk has one face on the court lol he is awesome though Garnett has been my favorite player since nine yrs old (relevance being i know he what hes suppose to look like) and tonight he looked like the garnett of old for the first time since Dec/Jan last season Rondo will be best pg in league once Nash is gone
Bucof2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 One more thing I totally think perk and Ray Allen deserved to be all stars never ever will more than three from same team be all stars (that'd be terrible marketing on the nba's behalf) but that being said fans making all star votes sucks because ppl who watch 2 games a year vote in players like Tmc and AI this yr and that's a joke that's why I don't think perk will get it even in a probably short time when Allen and Garnett retire. If the AP or coaches or owners voted it'd be more fair to the players
bullets13 Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 perk's a fantastic player, but he's tied for 89th in the league for scoring. he's also only 27th in the league in boards. whether or not he deserves an all-star nod (i personally think he does), he simply doesn't score and rebound enough. great defense and good hustle simply aren't enough in the NBA to get you to the all-star game. i think if he can ever get up to maybe 15 points and 10 boards a game (rather than the current 11 and 8) he might find his way onto the squad.
