Tiger05 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 1. D.C. Stallworth – Silsbee2. Kristen Smith – Central3. Dionte Forney – Nederland4. David Green III - SOPH – Ozen5. Adam Wells - West BrookWith Stallworth, Lane, Harris, Gaines and the twins comming back for Silsbee next year they should be just fine ;D
Bucof2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Is Smith the soph that was on central as freshman last yrs?
ST413 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Yes Lane should be close to the top 5 if not in it. The Tigers will be fine next year. We will just miss those two trees inside not much height to replace them.

Bucof2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Sutherland will be top shooter no question about that
ST413 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Sutherland will be the top shooter. Not so sure about all around top 5. Gus is in the same boat as Lane close if not there.

Razor Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Kelvin Smith of Nederland should figure in the mix as well.
BMTSoulja1 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010
Kelvin Smith of Nederland should figure in the mix as well.
So, Smith from Nederland will be back as well? Didn't know this kid was an underclassman...
Razor Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 yeah, soulja, he and forney are both juniors along with Chris Cunningham...Nederland will have quite a few players returning next year.
BMTSoulja1 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 He and Forney can be a good 1-2 punch over there next year. Let's see what part of thier games they work on for next year...
Razor Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 They sure could be...I believe they combined for 47 points and 29 rebounds against Ozen Friday night...they were pretty dominant inside in that game
bball101 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 kelvin smith of nederland has way more basketball talent then forney, he is more athletic and a more dominant in the paint
The Goat Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010
kelvin smith of nederland has way more basketball talent then forney, he is more athletic and a more dominant in the paint
No way, forney is da man, I would take him tonight to start for MHS, smith wouldn't have made the team.
team first Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Wow Goat 28 pts and 14 rbs. vs Ozen not enough to make Memorials team? Please. dont base judgement on earlier game vs Titans..some kids actually improve through alot of hard work. This kid can play!!!
bballfan33 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 agreed I would take smith on my team before forney..very close though. Also watch out for brennan doty next year
Aces_Full Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Well I can now take the Goat off of the list for who to go to for basketball advice. Apparently, you've only seen Kelvin Smith play one game this year (vs. Memorial), because the kid has been tearing it up for some time now. Put me in the camp that believes Kelvin is currently Nederland's best player. Although both he and Dionte and very good, and either one could be the best on any given night. I also believe Kelvin projects better to the next level (college). Either way I'm sure Coach English doesn't mind having both players. And Kelvin wouldn't make Memorial's varsity??? That's laughable.
CThoops Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Good thing Nederland doesnt have to choose between having one or the other. ;) ;) ;D ;D ;DSmith or Forney could play and maybe even start for Memorial. As far as best players for next year, both deserve to be mentioned. Best bigs in the area.
ForeverADog Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 When Dionte wants to be he isn't the best basketball player at NHS he is the best athlete! Both football and basketball he dominates when he is motivated. The problem is he often appears uninspired to play. That's when Kelvin is better. However both guys should be top players for however long this season continues (hopefully a couple weeks) and all of next year.
Djones8301 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Come on GOAT, Are you serious???? Smith would help Memorial out alot man.

The Goat Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Good golly gee, everyone want to beat up on The GOAT, I didn't say word about that game where we was a non factor, I like Forney's big body the middle crashing the boards on both sides, with nice post moves and excellant foot work, plus he's a good free throw shooter. I'm just taking the most complete player.@dog1218- only Forney could start for us right now. TODAY!@Ace- Smith could play jv though. ;)@team first- 28-14 is great but it's ozen, ozen isn't a good team anymore.

ST413 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 No the twins for Silsbee are only juniors. Only seniors Hill,Jones, thomas, Lockett and Simmons.
