Gabe Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 What are you expectations Astros' fans?Wild card berth?Division winner?NLCS?Possible WS?No playoffs at all?
Guest JoesBros Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 No playoffs but at least an improved record around the 500 mark at least. I predict 3rd place in the Central. BTW why does a Yankee fan have to start this thread? ;)
Gabe Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Posted February 22, 2010 I was shocked nobody had. Its freaking baseball season and no Astros talk. Come on Houston fans
Guest JoesBros Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Im more jacked up about High School and College ball right now :D

Look for spurts that will have them near the top of their division. Then sit back and wait for their swoon and the resulting finish of 12 to 15 game back. You expect anything different this year?
Gabe Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Posted February 22, 2010 That's why I asked. Can't hurt to have a little talk. Didn't mean to offend ya :'( :'( haha
Guest tigersvoice Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010
That's why I asked. Can't hurt to have a little talk. Didn't mean to offend ya :'( :'( haha
Not offended and sorry if my statement came out a bit harsh. But I didn't see the Astros do anything significant during the off-season to improve their lot. Do you think it's the owner not being willing to put out the money for quality players (as in a pitching rotation that anybody has actually heard of - never mind Roy O) or is it the farm system, or is it our scouting staff that can't spot talent? Someone earlier said they were frustrated and I guess that's where I am. No progress on the field or in the standings but the price of tickets and beer continues to go up.
mat Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 I don't have my hopes up. I agree, no exciting improvements during the off season. There will probalby be teasing spurts that end up in a let-down. I'm a fan and hope I'm wrong.
bullets13 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 i don't see them making the playoffs... you know the cards are going to probably win the division, and i don't see the stros beating out both the cubs and the brewers, not to mention all the teams from the other divisions who have a shot at the wild card.
ForeverADog Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 I think pitching will be better. Don't know if it will be good enough plus loss of Tejada means loss of runs. I say 5 to 10 More wins. 80-82 overall.
Ruckdad Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Dog - You took my number -that is exactly what I was thinking. Since you have 80 wins taken - I'll just go up one and predict them as completely mediocre.81-81.
