Lets hope the small schools can keep southeast tx going.
Of course they will:)
Yeah.  It's a tradition!
I hope my Tigers can keep up the tradition all the way to Austin.

That's messed up that you don't think Nederland has a chance to keep southeast Texas going.
No didn't mean that at all.  I wish them all the luck,  now with that said they are 4A same as the Yates team I saw last night.....I am sorry but there is no chance.  The rason I made that statement is that there are many small schools still playing so they need to speak for SETX in numbers.

5A

West Brook lost 47-29
PAM lost  71-68 2 ot

4A

Central lost 60-47
Ozen lost 45-37
Livingston lost 67-47

Yep - you are right. Too bad we have to play one of the best teams I have ever seen next round - they are simply 13 deep with starters. their press is something to behold!

Only one, Nederland, is able to move on after the first round.

Not what most expected.

Everyone's been saying it's a down yr this is no surprise
I find it interesting how the talent pool kind of run in cycles. I could see the Beaumont area product going down, but it will come back again.
Yep unfortunately for you EC is coming way up the next few years and won't have much problem with the shorthorns ;D

Geographically, Houston is in southeast Texas. Then you have the ''Greater Houston Area'' which includes what surrounding areas??........so what is your point?

Oh yeah......''How 'Bout 'Dem Bulldogs??"
No one in Houston knows anything about Beaumont unless they have  moved from this area.

I think it will be tough for Ozen to get rid of Saveat after this season. They were co-dist champs, had DeCarlos for a half season (don't know if that was good or bad) and they are young young.

A first round loss was coming that's why the Nederland game was so important.

On the other hand, the fan support dropped off. I was disappointed in the turnout @ PAM with Nederland. It used to be tough to find a seat at Ozen games.

I like Marquis, but I would be in favor of all 3 schools getting a new coach.

We hear all the time about big school basketball but the loser of these 3 games scored 29,37 and 47 points respectively. With the type of baskeball players that are in Beaumont there is no reason not to be able to score. You won't beat anyone scoring 29 points in the regular season must less the playoffs. There are some small school guys that could elevate these programs but I don't know why they would want to work in BISD.Wait let me think, anyone that can pay their superintendent 300k could probably make you find a reason.
