He also filled in returning kickoffs and punts.Tatum redshirted upon his arrival in 2008 and played sparingly this past season.
jayhawk Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Really hate to hear that ! The guy is made of pure talent and is a nice young man ~ hope he figures it out and still makes a go of it somewhere else .
Bucof2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 He was a standout player for a team not full of standout players what could he possibly have done
SETXSPORTSJUNKIE Posted February 25, 2010 Author Report Posted February 25, 2010 Yes...he was a gifted young man. Sad to hear. Wonder what happened to him? Dayton fans...give us some info of you know. Sad day for him and his family, I'm sure.
Bhplayer011 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Dugat was skipping class and not reporting to practice.

SETEXFan Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Just remember that the street runs both ways and sometimes personalties conflict and people go their seperate ways. Not handled well on both sides, but you only get UofH's side in the media.
badndn Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 He would ook better in LU Red! ;DWith Tyrik Rollison transfering from Auburn to SHSU, it would be wild to see he and Dugat hooking upfor the next three years. Who would've thought watching that State Title Barnburner between Sulphur Springs and Dayton that thos two might play together someday? Food for thought!
liltex Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 I pray he figures things out very soon and wish him the knowlege to pursue his dreams whatever they are.Talented as a football player is not as important in life as having a career minded goal to reach for.Hope he makes better decisions and turns things around.
SETXSPORTSJUNKIE Posted February 25, 2010 Author Report Posted February 25, 2010 Sad turn of events I just heard from a co-worker. AJ was already on probation for hitting someone with a bat, so now pulling a gun on someone else didn't set to well with the university. He might look better in Liberty County stripes, not LU RED! Go Cardinals!!!!!!!!!
HoopInsider_Cooper Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Standout player??Hope that was sarcastic Buc....I went to 5 home games. He didn't do much at all except waive fair catches on punts. They won't be missed.

SETXSPORTSJUNKIE Posted February 25, 2010 Author Report Posted February 25, 2010 I hope it is rumor. This kid is amazing. Maybe misguided priorities, but I guess what 20 or 21 year old doesn't at times.

Jackthehammer Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 I hope he did not act out as the rumors suggest. If he did the right decision was made to move on without him.

I'll take 12+ yds a touch out of a true freshman. I hope the rumors are just rumors and AJ can find a way to continue playing.
PURPLE 4EVER Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Hope AJ figures everything out....College is books first then athletics.
knightrider Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 hope he gets his life straightened out. such good talent goingto waste. he just needs to realize that education has to come first. hate to see that happen. zero tolarance in college. they don't mess around. :'(
Guest rambleonus Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Hitting someone with a bat and pulling a gun? Poor misguided kid. I hear the Cowboys are looking at him.
7mary3 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Regardless, he still knows right from wrong and those players definetely know what the coaches and university expect from them, at all times. Kids would kill to have that athletic ability and opportunity. Hopefully he'll get it figured out because he has lot's of fans pulling for him. As we all know, every community has that group of athletes that were should of, could of, would of's.....let's hope Dugat doesn't fall into this group.
westend1 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 I'm sure UH is disappointed, but not overly surprised. It seems he had school issues before he ever enrolled. They had to know that they were taking a chance on the kid.

I hope this has gotten his attention and he turns it around.
BrenhamFan Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Another talented WR from region 3 that had a bright future, but is screwing it up. What is it with WR's and getting in trouble? First Brandon Collins and now A.J. Dugat. Truly another sad story.
FOOTBALLFEVER99 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 One word.."BONEHEAD"...Any kid would kill for the opportunity given to him and a free education to boot.....Hope he gets his act together if not, there will be another "good" kid ready to fill the open slot.. Most of these kids have been pampered and coddled their entire lives becauese of their athletic ability. Welcome to the real world young man.
