Guest coachacola Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010
No game from among Lamar University’s 29 outings this season sticks out like the proverbial sore thumb more than a Jan. 30 visit to Texas-San Antonio. Given the Cardinals ineptitude away from the Montange Center, and their continuing inability to make much of anything outside three feet, the final score and shooting percentage seem like a misprint. Lamar 64, UT-SA 57, with the Cardinals making 51 percent of their shots (25-of-49), just doesn’t fit.
http://panews.com/sports/x1765867843/Lamar-hopes-to-snuff-UT-SA-again
ForeverADog Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 It is a must win for the conference tourney chances!

ForeverADog Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Poor start defensively. Pretty good on offense. We have to start stopping penetration.
Guest coachacola Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 31-24 UTSA. LU shooting 40%, UTSA 68%...what else is new?
ForeverADog Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Coop I saw you laugh after Coy finally dunked one!! Haha
Guest coachacola Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 57-51 UTSA by 6 with about 9 minutes to go. Nabors has 21 points.
HoopInsider_Cooper Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 I did!!! LOL...he barely got it over too....He started talking noise running down the court. I was like, this guy is 6-11 & barely got it over the rim. LOL...Had to leave...the hacking cough started in.
ForeverADog Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Ha who says white guys can't jump?
Guest coachacola Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 LU was down by 10, now LU is down by 1 with about minute left.
HoopInsider_Cooper Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Tough loss tonight...they could have had a 1 game lead for the 8th spot with 2 left to play.UTSA just has better players.
UNLV Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 5 Loses in a row. Roc just don't have it. He could make more money recruiting for a big name program. Time to go Roc...sorry.Lamar is a fund raising machine. Lamar needs to fund raise a few millions then use the millions tograb a coach that can bring it.

Look at who starts for the top 5 teams in the league:SHSU: 3 senior, 2 junior starters, 1 freshman on the teamSFA: 1 senior, 3 junior starters, 2 freshmen on teamUTSA: 4 senior, 1 junior starters, 6 of 9 top players are seniors, 1 freshman on the teamSELA: 1 senior, 3 junior starters, 1 freshmen on teamUTA: 4 senior, 1 junior starters, 5 freshmen on teamLU: 1 senior, 2 junior starters, 4 freshmen on team (that get a lot of minutes)Who played for Lamar last year? Custer, Miles and Harper (1 sophomore and 2 freshmen)It's been a disappointing year but not a complete disaster. If most of the team had played for Roc last year then yes, Roc would need to go. Next year will be his 5th year. He'll have a lot of players back and his best freshmen recruiting class. We'll see how well he coaches next year.
tyree Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 That one senior of ours (two counting Hall) are going to be replaced by who? ...the new recruiting class that is still in high school? Obviously Harper will be at the 3 or 4 but who do we have that will give us Nabors' points and rebounds next year?
ForeverADog Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Well everyone will have to step up to cover that. It won't be one person. Expect more from Harper, Brown, and Wesley. Also maybe a red shirt or true freshman to step up. That has to be the one major whole. Nwevo hole will be much easier to fill.
