This is also Silsbee's 5th appearance in the regional tourney in these 6 years of being in class 3A, with 3 regional final appearances in those previous 4 trips. The Tigers are looking to make it 4 regional final appearances in 6 years. ;) ;D

Its very nice to have two very good programs this close together, I've said it every year and I will say it again. It's a shame that one of us will be denied a trip to austin becuase I think both are very worthy.

Poppa I believe it would be HJ's fourth regional finals in a row if they win friday. A split with the Tigers in 07 & 08 and then the win over Jasper last year.

last night was the best i've seen the hawks play all year.  they played considerably better than the game they beat silsbee a couple of weeks ago.  if they keep it up, whoever they face the rest of the way is going to have their hands seriously full.

[/quote]What impressed me the most was the way they were able to keep their heads in the third quarter.  Cleveland opens up the third with an 8-0 run and then the referees started to show that HJ was competing against them as well.  They could easily have blown their cool and the lead at the same time.

Yes Silsbee is the favored heavily, But you know them hawks aren't afraid of nothing.

I would definately not say the Tigers are heavily favored. I might even give the Hawks the edge the way they have ben playing.  They are playing there best while the Tigers have been playing good in stretches.  I do  believe if both reach this game the Tigers will have a litle to prove and pull it out.

Can't say it any better.  I wish this could be the state finals matchup every time it is played in the playoffs.  Hopefully both teams will reach Saturday so we can have the matchup we all want and be guaranteed a team in Austin.
