whsalum
The secret to this one was definitely on the boards.Silsbee controlled the glass and the game.I was surprised Hudson never made any adjustments to attack the Tiger zone.It was very aggressive tonight and frustrated the Lufkin bunch from the coach on down.Good job Tigers and this sets up a dandy. no-look
I thought Silsbee would win because of their size match up.....Hudson always shoots very well at the free throw line and also shoots well from three point line....what happened? Did Silsbee's defense play a part or did Hudson have a terrible night shooting? 0-9 from three land and 39% from the ft line is very uncharacteristic of them.... ST413
From the line must have been an off night or maybe we ran themn to death and caused them to miss free throws like Rudder did us. :) from the arc could have been caused by shooting over Tigers. They shot poorly in the first half, only going 4/13. Didn't do much better in the second half, 5/10.Silsbee defended the 3 point arch very well pushing the Hudson shooters way out of their range. I would say of those 9 three's that Hudson shot last night, 5 were from 25 feet or more. Hudson never shot an uncontested three last night. Silsbee had a defender in the face on each shot. And when you got a '6'3, '6"4 and sometimes a '6"7 coming out to defend the three, it makes it very tough to get off a good shot.
whsalum
Silsbee's half court defense was as good as I've seen this year from any high school club and I have watched a lot of ballgames. That being said the Hudson staff made zero adjustments became frustrated and took an early shower. That's very unusual to see a coach get the boot in a regional contest.
