KFDM COOP Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 Vidor girls win their own Pirate RelaysVan Wade The Orange LeaderVIDOR — VIDOR — The Vidor Lady Pirates remain hot on the track as they captured their third straight track meet this week, winning their very own 16th annual Vidor Pirate Relays while Little Cypress-Mauriceville sophomore Hayden Reed continues to dominate the boys’ throwing events. The Lady Pirates piled up 156 1/2 points, edging second-place Silsbee (147). The Nederland boys dominated their field, winning with 180 1/2 points while Port Neches-Groves was second (106) and LC-M (104 1/2) third. The Lady Pirates received first-place finishes from Chin Lee Harvey in the long jump (15-7); Millie Taylor in the 800 meters (2:37.56); Britten Fawcett in the 400 meters (1:01.78); and Trista Townley in the 1,600 meters (6:04.00). On the boys side, the Bears’ Reed won the shot put and discus for the third consecutive meet. He won the shot with a toss of 56 feet and captured the discus with a throw of 150-3. LC-M’s 400-meter relay team won with a time of 43.66.
