The regular season just ended. Conference tourney is this weekend. Lamar failed to qualify for the tourney.

Another reason why he may not be around next year, he's bringing apathy back to LU basketball.  I doubt Roc will get publicly "fired", but if he doesn't return next year Tubbs better have a replacement that will get people excited.

YUP, coach you are sooooo right! There is another job out there that Rock could land as an assistant with an old friend... But if it doesn't happen I can see Tubbs firing him!!! He is recruiting kids far away and not winning with them.  He is trying to recruit Major D1 kids too, which is a waste of money and time!!! kids that can play in the big 6 conferences will not play in the Southland!!

Yes but these guys didn't know that... He also was almost a Tubbs assistant!!!  A decorated High School coach can be a good hire!  It will not be an embarrassment.  Plenty of schools have done it... It would be no worse than hiring a dercorated college assistant that totally blew the job!!!

Trust me I knew that and that is fine as an assistant. But it simply isn't the answer.  Two different levels.  Because your good or in fact great in his case at the high school level doesn't mean that you are gonna be good or great at the college level.  Also, the fact of the matter is he would not have been able to keep the likes of keena young and others here.  Maybe some but not the ones that we all dream about.  When the BYU's and Texas' of the world come calling anyone short of Mike Kryzeweski will not keep them here.

After Keena didnt go to memphis he would have been right there with Boutte... Clearence Matthews, Trey McDowell, K. Hancock, etc. would have played for Boutte over playing in other small D1 schools... Last I checked no one has been offered by Duke around here!!! A smart recruiter would not try to compete with those schools... There are plenty of second teir students with great game!
