Guest baseball25 Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 FEDOR EMELIANENKO NO LONGER THE WORLD'S GREATEST FIGHTER, Fedor Emelianenko is often referred to as "the best fighter in the world," but I would challenge this. He has fought many big names such as Heath Herring, Kevin Randleman, cro crop and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira when they were in their prime. But at UFC 110, Cain Velasquez convincingly stopped "Big Nog" in the first round. Velasquez showed that the "changing of the guard" has started. Until Emelianenko quits beating around the bush and gets into the cage with the likes of Brock Lesnar, Shane Carwin,Dos Santos, Mir or Velasquez, how can he still boast he is the best in the world? Yes, he can beat Tim Sylvia or Andre Arlovski, but they aren't the top in the world anymore. Until Emelianenko gets over himself and steps into the cage with the new generation of fighters, he has no right to say he is the best in the world.TO BE THE BEST, YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE BEST, I don't understand how people can consider Fedor Emelianenko the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. It's questionable whether he's even the best heavyweight in the world, much less the greatest pound-for-pound. Emelianenko has all this hype and legend behind him, but for the past five years he's only fought once or twice per year. All he does is beat up on washed-up UFC has-beens and seven-foot tall Koreans. Brett Rogers, who has beaten just one notable opponent, almost knocked Emelianenko out in the first minute of their fight. Now Emelianenko won't fight Overeem, and who knows what's going on with a potential Fabricio Werdum fight? If you're not fighting the best in the world, then how can you say you are the best?
Rebel4Christ Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 i once gave Fedor the benefit of the doubt on this, but after his recent refusal to accept Dana's generous UFC offer and the near whiff against Rodgers I too believe that he must step into a UFC cage against the best in the world. Overeem, Werdum, and Rodgers aren't going to cut it anymore. I have to believe that his next move will be to the UFC. He can no longer avoid it.
mat Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 If he's ever going to move he better make it quick, the clocks ticking on him and he's not getting any younger. I no longer think of him as the top PFP and question him being the top HW.A. Silva or GSP would be the top PFP.Since we're asking opinions of PFP fighters; where would Cyborg fall into the mix? I know she's a girl but she is as dominate as any male fighter in any weight class. Just a question.
Guest baseball25 Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 I agree with you man, I like Fedor but he needs to go to the UFC and fight the new Generation of fighters.
Guest baseball25 Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 I think she needs to fight atleast 2 more fights to be consider, she's very tough fighter, but girls MMA needs to get more exposure.
utguy09 Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 I just dont see him winning against lesnar, mir, or carwin. He got lucky with andrie.Lesnar would be to over powering for fedor.Mir i think is better on th ground and carwin is just unnatural.Until he steps into the ufc to fight real fighters my opinion is he is overrated.
venom33 Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 greatest hw in the world and possibly you will ever see, no doubt...can someone please explain what the best p4p rankings consist of and how one goes about ranking each fighter?
utguy09 Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 He could possibly be im not doubting his ability i just want to see him fight better fighters.Until he fights mir, carwin, or lesnar i wont consider him the best hw.Now pfp belongs to silva or gsp.
Guest baseball25 Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Pfp is who hasbthe overall best skills, who fights the best competition in the world and wins, to be the best you got to beat the best out there, moving up in weight and beating guys, cleaning out your divison which Gsp,silva,bj has done, fedor is the best heavyweight out there back in 2006 but it's 2010 now and he's not even fighting in the best organization, and he's not even fighting the best heavyweights out there, dos Santos, carwin,Mir,lesnar, velesquez, can even fight machida, and silva at catch weight, ufc has the upcoming New generation of fighters this is the new breed so he needs to fight the creme of the crop and ufc has those fighters, could fedor beat them prob but does fedor have a chance to get beat hell yeah he does, perfect example the best boxer in the world manny pacaqiau has been fighting top notch guys and moving up weight classes and dominates that's why he's pfp best mayweather has been fighting b level fighters now he's fighting a, a level fighter in mosley next if he wins he gets pacman if he beats pacman he will be the best in the world, that's why mayweather cam back bec he knows pacman is a threat so he's a competitor and wants to be the best, if fedor want to be known as the best again then he needs to fight the best and be in the nest organization and beats the guys, he's in the CBa of basketball instead of the NBA, and every competitor wants to be In the best organization, ichiro, maustui, dice k they had there fun In japan but they wanted to be recognize and they knew for that to happen they needed to come to america and play in the MLB, so we could see how good they are, they want to compete against the best.
venom33 Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Randy is the only heavyweight fighter with a legitimate enough legacy to demand to fight Fedor (maybe Josh). Lots of guys could give him a run, no doubt, but it is foolish to win a few fights at heavyweight and then try to punk Fedor because he doesn't fight in your org. When was the last time Mayweather had to prove himself against an "up and comer" with a 4-1 record???The truth is, if you are a heavyweight and truly want to fight the best, you sign with Strikeforce, cause that's where he is. One could legitimately say using this logic that every heavy in the UFC is just ducking Fedor. No one is criticizing these guys for wanting to make money instead of wanting to fight the best!Fedor was probably the most active heavyweight champion of all time in his days with Pride at a time when Pride clearly had the top heavyweights in the world. If some of the UFC Heavyweights want a shot at Fedor, then sign with Strikeforce, I am sure Fedor would oblige you. If not take him up on his offer to fight him in Russia for free! Otherwise, if you are not willing to sign with Fedor's promotion, then STUF regarding him signing with yours.Fedor has done something none of the UFC turds like Tito Ortiz could do, namely become a superstar without bending over for Dana White!
Guest baseball25 Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Mma is totally different when it comes to boxing about records, all I'm saying to be the best you got to fight the best, plain and simple I like fedor alot but he's hurting his legacy fighting a bunch of no bodies he hasn't fought a legit guy In 4 yrs man, that's why gsp, silva, machida, and bj get recognize as pfp best bec they fight legit contenders not tomato cans, I mean it not Lesnar fought that he's a monster in mma after 5 fights, I mean mma these days is a new breed of powerful heavyweights that are very skilled, this isn't 2005 anymore fedor needs to fight the best heavyweights out there and there in the ufc, and those fighters will give fedor a challenge and I feel fedor doesn't want the challenge bec there a huge threat to him.
venom33 Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 stop worrying about fedor and start concentrating and learning more about your future hw champion....LIGHTS OUT!!! ;) ;) ;)

"he was losing until he won!"
Guest baseball25 Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 man Fedor is a beast, I just want to see him fight man, he has fought 3 times in 3 yrs, and those fight were Rogers,Arvloski, and syvlia, which rogers has never been tested and arvloski and syvlia cut from UFC, then before that he fights the 7ft monster guy that sucks balls, and then he fights a overweight matt lindland that fights at 185, and Mark hunt is just one dimensal and a stand up guy and COLEMAN HAS BEEN OLD FOR 10 yrs now, Cro Crop thats his last true big time test he's had and that was in 2005, now you got some good heavyweights that are the new Generation and those core of fighters are Lesnar,Mir,Carwin,Dos Santos, Velesquez, and catch weights inMachida,Silva. Those are fights out there that FEDOR needs to pursue, thats all I am asking for, I know if i was a fighter and I was the best heavyweight out there I would want to prove my self and fight the best, because thats the bull dog in me, and the competitor in me just from playing college ball and etc, yes Fedor has been the best for a while but he hasn't fought anybody in 5 years, so now its time, if you want to be the BEST you got to fight the BEST, thats the easiest way to shut everyone one up now if he wants to RETIRE right now hey I am all for it and he will be known has the greatest EVER but same thing with JOE Calzaghe the BOXER he never fought BHOP,ROY JONES JR in there prime because he was ducking them so now he has retire and all boxing experts say that will haunt him for the rest of his life because he didn't fight those fighters in there prime he fought them when they were over 40 yrs old, just like MAYWEATHER he came back for 2 reasons only MOSLEY and PACMAN and thats it, every boxing fan and expert kept saying PACMAN is the best in the world and mosley is 2nd best and these are fighters that MAyweather has never fought and he needs these fights for his legacy and career and you know what we get one of those fights in MAY and then mayweather will get PACMAN if they both win......... and hey its just not me its every MMA expert out there that says this. For as Coutore he is just speaking his mind man he thinks Fedor needs to fight the best, and I agree with Coutore, MMA fans,MMA experts, MMA fighters all want to see FEDOR fight in the UFC, so if FEDOR wants to be consider the BEST MMA FIGHTER EVER he has some unfinished buisness and thats finish in the UFC.
mat Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Fedor could be the best but he's done nothing to prove it in quite some time. In his last fight Rogers (a nobody) gave him a tough time. If the experts, by what ever method they use, claim he's the best then sobeit. I doesn't mean the fans will accept it.Silva was considered at the top but some fans (including me) weren't buying it because of a string of lack luster wins. Then he decide to shut everyone up by moving up in class and WHOOPIN Forrest and continues to pursue others. He's proved it to me and everyone else.
Razor Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Silva, GSP are the best overall IMO...I would like to see Fedor fight some of the UFC guys just to see what would happen
