KFDM COOP Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Beaumont West Brook boys 4, Port Arthur Memorial 1 West Brook consistently delivered two goals in each half and rolled past Port Arthur Memorial, 4-1, on Tuesday night at the PAISD auxiliary field. Port Arthur (4-7-1 and 1-7) scored in the 11th minute when Juan Zepeda received an assist from Oliver Villarreal. The Titans stayed within a goal, trailing only 2-1 at halftime. Coach Don Smith's Bruins opened the scoring by converting a free kick over the head of Titans keeper Victor Gonzales. The Bruins went ahead again with five minutes left in the half on a 1-on-1 breakaway opportunity. Another 1-on-1 breakaway made it 3-1 before a penalty kick put a lid on the scoring. Memorial will visit Channelview in another 21-5A game on Friday night.
