shellman54 Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 A very good idea. Took a CPR class a couple of weeks back, and we were shown how to use one. Very easy, you can't mess up with it. Plus, it is very effective.
BH89 Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 Being an EMT I say this is a no brainer. The units are very inexpensive and because they are mostly "Automatic" units, Shelman is right you can't screw it up. I read a statistic recently that with an AED being used within the first 3 minutes of a heart attack, survival rates increase between 30 and 70 percent. For every minute you do not receive advanced care, you are 10% more likely not to survive. I'll donate one and train the staff to use it, if a school can't afford it.
