IMO, Ben West should have gotten Coach of the Year.

Definitely,  Bray is good but Walker has the best all-around game.

I'd lay money that Ben voted for Duane and Duane voted for Ben ... they are good friends and great coaches. Joub had a fantastic team this year ... lots of talent. They won a lot of games and with the exception of one bad night, they should have won state.
Coach West didn't have the same caliber talent and still almost made it to state. It's kind of like the Silsbee girls basketball coach being named Coach of the Year. His girls started out with eight or nine losses in a row and came back to make it to the playoffs. He earned the title of Coach of the Year.
I think sometimes the coaches simply vote for the coach who won the district ... In fact, if you ask most of them, they don't like to pick a Coach of the Year at all. ...
In the end, Joubert or West would either one make a great Coach of the Year.
