no-look
A player gets fouled(not a good free throw shooter) and another goes to the line and shoots the free throw. Works best when everybody goes to the opposite end to shoot the free throw. Usually no one notices... Happens a lot........Right or Wrong?.....Ethical or not?..... Bucof2010
I know of a team and particular player that used to do it constantly lol
whsalum
Nothing is unethical if the official doesn't catch it ;) ;)I personally know the master of the technique and a real good free throw shooter ;D ;D

Mustallion #20
I'm a player and it happened to me and my team this yearin a close game vs "sumbody". We lost the game bcuz of itbut life goes on and it was only a scrimmage. HOWEVER whenI ran to the ref to tell him he ignored me and said he was rightI was wrong, pathetic how each of those refs handled it. It's notright! But if the refs are dumb enuff to be stubborn and not notice...what can u do? Nothing is the answer

bullets13
it's cheating. still, the refs should catch it, and if it happens more than maybe once, the opposing coach should catch it as well.
Bucof2010
If the refs listen to opposing players it'd probably never happen
mfd814
Actually saw this happen this year at a AAU game, MoCity called a timeout prior to the freethrows. A different better FT shooter got on the line. The refs caught it right away. The players were cracking up. Good job by the Ref, of course the crowd recognized it as well and the opposing team. However, they tend to operate by the theory that if they admit a mistake, it will damage their credibility for the rest of the game/season. The theory also includes maintaining the appearance that they are always in charge and should not be questioned. I understand why they do this on the one hand, but I think it actually lessens their credibility to "fake it" in that manner.
