LU Baseball Fan Posted March 27, 2010 Author Report Posted March 27, 2010 I love how people try to speak for others and what they want. Baseball25 is great in telling us what we want... Well I am 54 years old a Lamar Alum, have live in Beaumont for 46 of those years and have always supported Lamar and its athletic programs. So I do not need you to speak for me and what you think my expectations are of any athletic program at Lamar. Now for all of you who are trying to figure out what this poll was far. Just curiosity!!!! I do not care if you are a season ticket holder, or a Cardinal Club member. I was just wondering how many of you were true Lamar supporters. Being a fan is more than just getting on your computer and griping about the programs. Yes it is great to get on here and read what everyone posts but for the few that can have absolutely nothing to say that is positive.....Well it is just redundant and old.... It is a shame that more people do not buy season tickets, even if they do not make it to many games. There are many who would like to use them when you are not. They are $80 for reserved and $60 for gen. adm. That is $2.50 and $1.50 per game when regular prices are $7 and $4. Of course I am sure most of you have not thought that this is a great way to support the program. Also in becoming a member of the Cardinal Club you can help support all aspects of athletics at Lamar, from scholarships to improvements.By the way yes Walter, Wayne, Glen, and many others have given a lot to improve our University but they are not the only ones. Many people go above and beyond and one person who deserves a shout out is Henry Strait who is making the new batting cages a reality. So for all of you who were offended that I just wanted to know whether most were fans that supported the school with your time and money or if you are just a fan that is critical most of the time. Yes I understand that some are unable to attend because of work or kids, at one time I could not come out because of prior commitments. but if you have a problem with the Lamar athletic programs, why don't you help us make a difference...Elaine Millar
