Mustang Baseball
How is Burkeville going to do the second round of the season? I think they will do better than the first and the two teams that they will have the most trouble with are west sabine and colmesneil.... the rest can easily be their game!!!! They have already provin that by playing and hanging with brookeland and chester.... Good luck to you mustangs!!!!!!!!! ;D

Mustang Baseball
Burkeville had chester held behind for the first innings and would have kept it that way if their bats were on like they will be next go round!!! ;) they had more trouble with colmesneil and west sabine... but you are right chester is ahead but that doesnt ever mean an underdog team like burkeville cant beat them at any givin point in time... you should check stats to the games other than just the teams ranks.... Gametime23
Haha yeah that happened in a swamp due to rain. Burkeville always gets ahead of Chester just never seem to pull it out. I know the stats and know the teams. I know Chester has about 6 guys they can put on the mound that will be effective and Burkeville has 2. Chances are with the pitching the way it is Chester has a better shot. Also seen the stats of both teams and Chester averages about 9 runs a game or more in district and Burkeville has put up 10 once in district. I am not saying Burkeville does not have a chance I just pick Chester to beat them. Oh fyi 9-4 was the final which is not hanging in there. Guest checkmate
There is absolutely no doubt who is the class of the district....it is Chester. They have a chance to go undefeated in district and go several rounds deep in the playoffs. This is their year just like last year was their year. Burkeville is still a couple of years off..but they have a very bright future. They are young, hungry, and have many young kids coming who can really play ball. Talk is cheap....but this is how I see things: Chester wins the district...Burkeville competes....but their glory is the future. JMHO.
Gametime23
No doubt Burkeville has some great athletes and if things come together for them they could be good. Tell you the truth they probably have the most athletic kids out of any team since Harper moved back. I believe their sports program willl continue to get better in every aspect. If they develop some arms and are not dependent on 1 or 2 kids that would help them abunch. In 1a the team that throws strikes and mixes up a little and plays defense wins. Defense hurt Burkville last year when they had their stud pitcher.
Guest checkmate
I agree totally...if you have watched the Mustangs this year you know that defense has not been the problem...it has been the offense...next year, Burkeville returns 7 starters on defense..only losing two outfielders. Coach Harper has brought a new attitude to the school..the man is a legend (I played for him in the 90's) and he is slowly getting things in place..it is going to be interesting to see what happens at the school.
