Colton Burleson started and went 4 and was relieved by Derek Sowell who finished the game. Give Center credit with some timely hits and defense to strand several Jasper potential scores. Jasper turned several double plays in the middle with Ernest and Soisson and 3b Parker Phillips showed a good glove on several hot shots. Sam Alvis continues to run down routine hits for outs in center field and Ty Parker shuts down the running game down.  Jasper hitters staying hot were S Alvis 2 hits, P Phillips 2 hits, T Parker 2 hits 2 walks, T Ernest 3 rhr, . Dogs needed a close one to realize how important each individual at bat is to sieze the moment to keep rally innings alive. Next week Carthage and Hudson on the road. As usual KJAS.com will carry the live game and post game wrap up with pictures.

Finally got to watch the Dawgs last night. They looked really good. The game was only 7 innings(no extra's Rykerx). Tyler Ernest hit a big homerun early in the game.

You thinking they are a bit hyped up this year or what?

They have beaten Carthage, Hudson, Vidor twice, LCM, Lumberton, WO-S, Dayton, Silsbee twice , Buna twice, Livingston, to name a few of the better teams they have played.

I guess they haven't played PNG, Nederland, BC or Orangefield though if those are the worthy adversaries to whom you refer.

You must of gotten your info from a bad source.  Vidor has beat Jasper twice and I think 1 of them was a shutout.

I belive that Jasper and Vidor have player four times this year (tournament games) and split the 4 games. Vidor won when Hester pitched...Jasper won when he did not. The second loss Jasper did not use its top pitchers due to playing harder teams the first week in their district...if i recall, Vidor started off with Central in District so there was no reason to save Hester for the Tuesday game. Jasper needed to save thier #1 for Hudson or Carthage...can't remember which.

Now that the games are counting, Jasper is undefeated through one round of District play. If they can get by both Carthage and Hudson on the road next week things will look really good.

Vidor has a great picther in Hester, but I think jasper is the better team this year. In a seven game series, I could see Jasper taking it in 6...

I have seen both teams a lot this year.
