utguy09 Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 Yea he is atop the list but if he would have just won one state champoinship he would be for sure the coach of the decade.
baseballjunkie Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 gotta go with Mixonjasper is solid every year and they got a ring.
Guest gwmcdona Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Without question Gil Staulbaum of Barbers Hill. 400 plus wins is not chop liver.
T-daddy Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Mixon from jasper no doubt the program is second to none and congrats on 300 wins..
bkatdog Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Without a doubt Coach Shawn Mixon has proved to be the best in the decade. With team play and blue collar work ethic, Jasper has made the playoffs since 1994 ( I believe, have to check clubhouse wall of fame next time through park ) without a missing a year with deep playoff runs that fuels the next years chances. Great job Jasper coaches ( Mixon, Smith, Brown, Trevino ) and keep up the good work. Congrats on the quick 300 win start with a ring to go with it.

How many times have they made the playoffs this decade? Sometimes 400+ wins can come from longevity. I'm not saying that's the case, I'm asking.

The '07 team was the first year that BH was 4A.
Worm Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Look up how many guys Coach Griff sends to the next level plus LCM competes every year.

Guest GCMPats Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Would RSS Coach Paul Tadlock get into the conversation?
BaseBow Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Look what Green has done in Vidor...has done well past 5years R so
adminbaberuth Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 What current coach has the most playoff wins in their career?
adminbaberuth Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 Last 10 years of playoff wins, is it Stone, Griff, Mixon or someone else, who do you think? We will have the list later.

I also asked him who he thaught coach of the decade was this area is and he said he would have to go with Mixson
baseballdude Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 If Bryant was still at BC and won district the couple of years after he left, I would go with Bryant. With that not being the case, Mixon is my choice. His team is competitive every year and he has a ring. Does anyone know how many district championships Jasper has in this decade?
RoundRock89 Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 You guys can't imagine how proud us former Jasper baseball players are of Coach Mixon and the job he has done. For him to get this sort of recognition in this sort of forum/crowd is really nice.... By the way, I think Mixon hit 13 home runs and batted over .400 his Junior year at Jasper...
vidor pirate Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 i know a decade isn't 5 years, but coach green has done an excellent job with the vidor baseball team
adminbaberuth Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 Some of these current head coaches haven't completed 10 years but here are some playoff wins. Feel free correct or add your current head coach to the list.Mixon (Jasper) 26Griff (LCM) 17Stone (PNG) 17Staubam (BH) 15Terrier (Buna) 14Robbins (Ned) 10Landry (BC/HF) 8Bennett (OF) 3Green (Vid) 2Mehaffy (HF) 2Trawhorn (Sil) 2
lcmfan Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 I think png and lcm have about 24 or 25 playoff wins in the last ten years if I am counting correctly.
