Laird, Bulldogs top Indians 3-1

NEDERLAND - Nederland's victory over its cross-county rival Tuesday night placed the Dogs in first place in District 20-4A.

Coach Cody Robbins' club did not take full advantage of Port Neches-Groves' four errors, however Cody Laird's seven strikeouts across 6.2 innings on the hill proved to be the difference in the game.

"Everyone knows pitching and defense wins championships," said Robbins.
