As much I hate to see it go because the place holds a lot of memories from childhood on, it is time to say goodbye.  Harris County has done nothing to maintain it and it would be a mercy killing right for the old lady.

That is probably the reason that it has not been taken down, yet.  If they take it down, it won't be the implosion but the old wrecking ball....a lot more tedious...and a lot more expensive.

IMO....
Convert it into an indoor parking garage, make a climate controlled walkway from the dome to Reliant Stadium, and charge an additional $5 to park in it...
It will be extremely expensive to knock down the structure, why not convert it into something that can make revenue....
