baseballjunkie Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Congrats to the Dogs.can anybody hit Kirby Bellow? Kids a monster.I definitely look forward to seeing him in that Texas uniform! ;D
1696dogs Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Well from my vantage point Sonnier fielded the ball cleanly and made an accurate throw. The paper states he was playing back instead of charging the ball but he fielded it on the grass so he must not have been playing to far back. He came home feeling like he ruint Bellow's no-no so I guess I better make sure he doesn't read the paper or this post so he doesn't feel like everyone else thinks so too.
Razor Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 1696, I would agree with your assessment...not sure he could have done much more on the ball due to the high bounce...the play was pretty close at first and I was surprised that the ump called him safe with a no-no on the line in a game whose outcome had long been decided at that point...at any rate, a dominating performance by Kirby and the Dogs.

1696dogs Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Walk off...where you there? There is no way the play could have been made at 2nd. The dogs got the win, as a team, and I'm sure Kirby will have a shot at another no-no this season.
1696dogs Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 On another note, give the batter some credit. He got a piece of Kirby's ball and got a hit out of it. He was only 1 of 2 players that did.
Walk-off Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 My bad 1696,just heard it in the stands.........
welovebaseball Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Yep, pretty harsh. The ball was chopped high. Trev could not have taken more than 1/2 step father on the grass. He fielded the ball cleanly and made a rocket throw with no hesitation at all. If there had been a problem with the way he played the ball, they would have scored it an error and he'd be facing none of your criticism.

ForeverADog Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Well that would suck. But if I lost it on a good call I'm okay with that. Also if I got a no no off a bad call I wouldn't like to live with that all my life but that's just me.
baddog Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 I'll take a one hitter anyday. ;D Way to go Kirby!Pitchers go out with a win on their mind. If a no-no happens, then fine. If it doesn't, then so what. He was still dominating as heck.Nolan Ryan had 12 one hitters.
Dog4Life Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Trevin Sonnier, in my opinion is the best shortstop in the area! He did what he could to make the play but let's face it, it was a BASE Hit!
9Doggies Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Get over it. Nobody's fault a high chopper with a fast runner means a base hit. 254 DOGS. ;D
Big Stick Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 This entire conversation is a waste! Be happy with the win and move on.
td Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Yall dominate the game , pitcher pitches an incredible game, you hit the ball and you field the ball. Basically played a flawless game and yall are going to rag on a kid for not making a play that he gave everything he had on? Thats unbelievable. 1969 tell the kid to keep his head up and keep playing a great SS. Shame on you guys for your statements.
