They hired a guy whose main experience as a coach was in powerlifting. They had a chance to hire back the last coach that took them to a state title in 1991 but settled for the above. no-look
I can understand wanting to build a football program, but not at the expense of the basketball program. I wish the guy well. If they have a losing season it really wont be his fault.........
catfever
I heard the guy they hired used to be an assistant in Georgetown. Must know a little about basketball. 5A programs normally have guys that know basketball as their assistants, especially in Georgetown. The ex-AD for HF used to be an assistant at Brenham, and I heard he could really coach some round ball. Give them the benefit of the doubt. Just because he wasn't currently coaching it doesn't mean that he can't.

jumpmanfeva
I don't like what I see coming from this AD. The coach mentioned above that was interested in coming back was my coach, and he was a heck of a coach! I promise if he had been there Navasota wouldn't have lost to Hardin-Jefferson the last 4 years...

Well I can promise you that if Hardin Jefferson had Phil Jackson the last four years, they would have beaten Navasota with any coach!!!

Be realistic though. PJ would retire if he had to coach HJ.
