Guest baseball25 Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Ufc has like 10 paperviews a yr and boxing has like maybe 4 or 5 , boxing no where near dead, if ufc was on may 1 it would do horrible paperview numbers everyone is ready for this mosley vs mayweather fight I am a big boxing and ufc fan but when it comes to a major fight like this I will watch boxing over mma In a heart beat. This fight is going to make boo coos of money, ufc will never see numbers like this, everytime boxing does a big paperview it Almost makes million buys, just go look at cotto va pacman numbers, pacman vs hatton numbers, Marquez vs mayweather numbers pacman vs dela hoya, mayweather vs dela hoya and u will see boxing is fAr from dead. Pacman vs clottey did over 700,000 buys and nobody knows clottey and had 50,000 fans at the fight boxing is dead huh, promise u ufc struggles to get 20,000 fans in the arena.

bullets13 Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 i think more than anything it's just a matter of approach. Boxing can't really put on as many marquee fights, but when they have them, they're big draws. MMA has a lot more "superstars" these days, and they can host 10-12 bigtime fights a year. I think if MMA only put on 4 or 5 major PPV fights per year, the draws would be bigger, but since they can get pretty big draws 10-12 times a year, it makes financial sense for them to do so. As for my comment about boxing, it was just a joke. I'm honestly not too much of a fan of either boxing or MMA.
