LMAO! I was just messin' with you old_wildcat. We've discussed this before and this article appeared and I just couldn't help myself. Lots of things can happen before this fall, but you have to admire (not fear)a coach and program that is 30-2 in the last two years. I hope Newton gets another chance at them this year. Playing a high caliber team such as Daingerfield does nothing but help.

Time wil tell..Daingerfield will have a tougher time this year..I'm not taking anything away from them, they are a power house football team, with one of the best programs in the State..But that kind of loss in your team leadership has to hurt..Time changes everything.. JMO..We will see, before long... ;)

6 D1 recruits could bring just about anyone's program up even after losing a number of seniors. I can tell you from watching the last two years when Newton played them, they have a high quality core of kids playing in important positions returning. QB, LB, receiver, DT. Plus the coach (and he is a good one) and a system the kids have been in a while and understand very well and excel in running it. Plus they are the defending two time state champions until they lose that crown in the playoffs this year. I would think they deserve to be ranked very high when the fall comes.

    • From the article:   "Massachusetts welfare recipients have been using their EBT cards while on tropical vacations to Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and other trips thousands of miles away from their home state, an investigation by the Boston Herald revealed.  Public records obtained by the outlet showed dozens of EBT card expenditures at several popular vacation destinations, including California, Florida, and Alaska, as well numerous holiday islands.  While the federal and state governments spent $3 billion on the taxpayer-funded EBT cards in Massachusetts during Fiscal Year 2024, 32 charges were made in Hawaii — with the largest expenditure being $378 on the island of Maui in March, the report found.  Dozens of other purchases made by welfare recipients pinged from all over the Virgin Islands and Alaska, including a $395 charge in Anchorage, a popular cruise port.   In fact, EBT recipients in the blue state have spent taxpayer dollars in virtually every U.S. state, and all over tourist hotspots in Florida and California.  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up @Big girl  @UT alum  @HuntersLaptop2028      What say you?!
    • The D-backs' Pavin Smith had the game of his life. 3-4 with 3-HRs, including a 3-run HR, grand slam, and solo shot for a total of 8-RBIs.  Before the game, my son and I watched JV warm up throwing long toss in the outfield.  He kept meeting with a trainer.  I did not see him give facial expressions or body language that he was injured but something is off.  In the first inning, his 4-seam fastball was between 94-97.  In the third inning it was 88-90.  When Smith came up to bat in the 5th inning, fans were yelling, hit him, throw it at him, back him off the plate.  Others were yelling, walk him!!!  He hit the solo HR.  One of those games for the Astros.  Day off tomorrow...welcome the Okland As on Tuesday night for one dollar dog night.
