I can't find any season statistical averages, but he put up HUGE numbers on a great team. I found some game write ups from the SBVC Archives, check it out! This guy may be a huge addition for this team!

Well if he can come in and put up numbers like the last two big men from Cali (Nashid Beard and Jay Brown), then we may have a winner. Size wise he appears to be about the same a Brown.

Kendrick Harris and Donley Minor are also from LA.  But is Roc replacing the whole team?  Brazier makes commitment #9.  Did Tubbs tell Roc he better win conference next year or else?  If all these guys do sign then which holdovers will be on the team next year?

This year's roster:

No. Name Pos. Ht. Wt. Yr.-Exp. Hometown (High School)
0 Reggie Mathis G 6-4 220 JR-JC Tulsa, Okla. (Jenks HS)
1 Anthony Miles G 6-1 165 SO-1L Houston, Texas (Clear Brook HS)
[s]2 Donte Lopez G 5-8 170 FR-HS Beaumont, Texas (West Brook HS)[/s]
10 Jonathan Garza G 6-0 160 FR-HS Pflugerville, Texas (Pflugerville HS)
11 Justin Wesley F 6-9 210 FR-HS Fort Worth, Texas (North Crowley HS)
[s]15 Ashton Hall F 6-6 210 SR-2L Kountze, Texas (Kountze HS)[/s]
21 Charlie Harper G 6-6 195 SO-1L San Antonio, Texas (Madison HS)
22 Donley Minor G 6-2 180 FR-HS Los Angeles, Calif. (Luezinger HS)
23 Kendrick Harris G 6-1 175 JR-JC Los Angeles, Calif. (Jordan HS)
[s]24 Justin Nabors F 6-7 215 SR-1L Holly Springs, Miss. (Holly Springs HS)[/s]
[s]31 E.B. Davis G 6-4 215 SO-JC Chicago, Ill. (Lawrence Academy)[/s]
33 Osas Ebomwonyi C 6-10 220 FR-HS Pflugerville, Texas (Pflugerville HS)
35 Stanford Brown F 6-9 215 FR-HS Dolton, Ill. (Whitney Young HS)
52 Coy Custer C 6-11 260 JR-2L League City, Texas (Clear Creek HS)
[s]55 Lawrence Nwevo F/C 6-8 260 SR-3L Lagos, Nigeria (Towson Catholic HS)[/s]

That still leaves 10 players.  Who else isn't coming back or will be back but not on an athletic scholarship?

I'm sure quite of the few of the fall commits won't be coming to Lamar.

I agree it sounds like this is going to be a Juco fix for the up-coming year.  Which if the results are good I'm all for it and i have alot of confidence that this class will do nothing but improve this team if they all suit up For Lamar next year Roc again is on a War-path

I would be perfectly happy with replacing the entire roster with the exception of Custer, Minor, Brown, Miles and Harper.  Ok, I guess I wouldn't mind seeing Harris come back.  Nothing against the rest of the players, but I just don't think they can get it done.

From MidStateHoops.com:

Adams is very explosive and powerful. He’s a good shooter with a quick release and is also quick off the bounce. His strong frame helps him to finish at the rim and he plays with great confidence. If he can balance his scoring and distribution to become more of a point guard instead of a lead guard he could make a high major school very happy in the backcourt.
Another tidbit:
A former Chicago Curie High School standout, Tremell averaged 22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals per game for SSC. Many high major programs were uncertain if he would qualify so didn’t take the chance of offering him a scholarship resulting in a steal for the Cardinals program.  He will have two years of eligibility for the Texas-based team.
Wow, it is looking like none of the early commitments will be suiting up for us!

Hoopscooponline now has Lamar at #15, mostly due to the number of recruits:
15.    LAMAR (24 Points)..........9 Recruits..........2.7 Talent Rating Average Per Recruit..........Southland Conference..........(4) Vincenzo Nelson, 6'5, WF, Itawamba (JC) MS; (4) Devon Lamb, 6'2, 2G, Southwestern Christian (JC) TX; (3) Tremell Adams, 6'1, PG, South Suburban (JC) IL; (3) Kavon Rose, 6'2, 2G, Lamar State (JC) TX; (2) Brandon Davis, 6'6, WF, Southwestern Christian (JC) TX; (2) Tre Lynch, 6'1, PG, Lancaster (H.S.) TX; (2) Michale Kyser, 6'8, PF, Lancaster (H.S.) TX; (2) Demetris Smith, 6'4, WF, Pflugerville (H.S.) TX; (2) Darius Harris, 6'7, PF, Port Arthur (Memorial) TX.
What I think is more important is that both Nelson and Lamb are rated 4s while Adams and Rose are rated 3s, which is similar to the 2007 class:
81.    LAMAR (14 Points)..........4 Recruits..........3.5 Talent Rating Average Per Recruit..........Southland Conference.......... (4) Kenny Dawkins, 5'9, PG, Arizona Western (JC) AZ; (4)  Ashton Hall, 6'6, WF, Angelina (JC) TX; (3) Justin Nabors, 6'6, PF, Northeast Mississippi (JC) MS; (3) Brandon McThay, 5'10, PG, Kilgore (JC) TX.
Roc's best year followed this recruiting class.  Will history repeat itself?
