TradinUp BH Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Looks like SEC is still dominating college baseball4. Florida 31-11 3-0 6 6. South Carolina 34-9 2-1 7 11. Mississippi 33-13 5-0 14 14. Arkansas 35-10 2-2 9 19. Auburn 21-17 3-1 NR 24. Louisiana State 32-13 0-4 15 I didn't find another conference that has more teams ranked in the top 25. The ACC actually had 5.
ForeverADog Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 The SEC isn't as clearly the best conference in baseball as they are in football but I would still say they are the best. The Big 12 is definately second, followed by the PAC- 10.

Although Texas is playing lights out, but when you put them as a group Big 12 falls to fourth.

They might not even make the tourney this year like the basketball team (rough spring in Chapel Hill). When you break it down I think the SEC can get up to 9 teams in the tourney which is crazy because that means a team will get in the NCAA Tourney but not the SEC tourney. Crazy but it has happened before. The ACC, Big 12, and Pac 10 Can all get about 7 teams in. Which is also impressive. and each conference has one of the top 3 teams in the country, unlike the SEC,with Virginia, Texas, and Arizona St. So with all that being said I take the SEC as number 1 because of their depth. and the other 3 as 2a. 2b. and 2c. since they are so close.
TradinUp BH Posted May 5, 2010 Author Report Posted May 5, 2010 I agree, they all four are very close. Texas is playing crazy right now and their the hot team. This is going to be a good World Series year. Hopefully my Tigers pull their head out and start playing some baseball.
ForeverADog Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 Its looking like they may lose out on hosting a regional if they keep playing like this. They need pitching. They can out hit most teams though.
team first Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Lsu with a very nice win last night. It was great to see Ranaudo back to form. But heck what did u expect, its tourney time, so of course Lsu is going play winning ball. Anyone know how Tx. did last night in their conference opener? ;D

Guest JoesBros Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 Yea the Tigers are peaking at the right time setting themselves up to host a regional now. Woohoo!!! ;)

Aces_Full Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 Is LSU hosting a regional??? LOL. Didn't think so. Texas is a national top 8 seed, and will be hosting a regional and super regional. LSU needs to worry about getting back in the top 25. Texas/LSU this year is not a good comparison. The tiggers just do not stack up.
Guest JoesBros Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 LSU holds off the Tide in 11 innings and two weather delays to win the 2010 SEC Baseball Tourney!!!!
TradinUp BH Posted May 31, 2010 Author Report Posted May 31, 2010 Even in an off year LSU takes Texas down. Heck Texas couldn't even win the Big 12 Tournament. In fact, Texas has trouble winning the big game in all sports.
Hold it there Hoss, I realize that Texas is getting a fairly light draw in the Regional, but if they don't pick it back up, they'll end up just like they did in the Big 12 Tourney. I don't hope that happens, I'd like to see (I don't know that it would happen) a Super including Texas & A&M in the final to go to Omaha.
