Crosby would be ranked high in our top 10

Recommended Posts

1.Nederland

Crosby

2.Orangefield
3.Jasper
4 Port Neches-Groves
5.Bridge City
6.Little Cypress-Mauriceville
7.Vidor
8.Huffman
9.Evadale
10.Buna

JMO, but Crosby would jump to No.2 in this poll. Their pitcher Gabby would be imo with par with Laird with Nederland. They have a solid defense and they swing the bats. Trae is a great pitcher, but that lineup of Crosby hitters didn't strike out 12-13 times like 20-4a hitters did against Hester.

So because they beat Vidor they get the 2nd spot???? I think they have to play a higher ranked team before they jump that far...IMO
well lets look at it this way....
1. Crosby would have won district if it wasen't for 2 bad inn that were full of errors that cost them two games
(they beat the district champs KP twice.)
2. smoked Vidor (20-4A "7th ranked team") without there 3 and 4 hole hitters that are both batting over .400 with 3 bombs each. two JV players started last night.
3. GP finished 3rd in 19 4A and smoked PNG 11-4 (20 4A 4th team.)
4. Orangefield and Jasper do not see the pitching in 3A every game like they do in 4A

So the question is why not????

Admid.

Id agree somewhat with your assessment based on WEDNESDAYS performance, but would like to see them play again, they would be worthy of a #3-5 ranked team locally.... Id like to seen their bullpen arms tho....Thats what seperates Ned-PNG-Jasper-O'field during their district seasons from the rest is those four teams, is how those four local teams eat up innings with quality arms....
Yet #34 RHP(86-90mph) was in total command from the start once he realised his fastball was exploding bats, their pitching coach did a good job changing hitters eye levels and working into weak zones....the Mangum kid(#8) 2nd best shortstop Ive seen this Spring, arm strength, footwork, range, and quality leadoff with bat speed, and #33 3hole RF, Scrappy Dirtbag type player. I felt their head coach was so in sinc with his kids, ran at the right times, bunted at right times, just a very flawless game on his kids part....Obviously errors and Vidors bunt game defense gave some momentum to Crosby as well...But overall our area teams dont bunt much here, we hit-n-run but not execute bunts consistently, so defensively it is a question mark on most of our local playoff teams...Everyone is going to face an opponents ace so the Bunt game is a huge weapon, forces opponents to defend and communicate during a faster-paced game...I would have liked to see Crosby face a lil adversity to see how they would have responded though.... They did play a pretty flawless game last night. They won 2 innings in the game and never allowed any momentum shifts with minimal pitch counts.
Vidor High and Coach Green, and assistants Jeremy, Sean, and Rex approach the game the right way, they have ALOT to be proud of, it was nice to see that program give its school and community something to place a cap on and be proud of, great season for the Pirates just the right team, unfortunately for our area, won last nights contest.

Just wondering how is Huffman considered Setx and Crosby isn't ?

Your gonna learn....just hang around a bit.  If your not from East of the Trinity you have to be in the top 1 or 2 spots and beat some of them to even be recognized.  That's OK, after this weekend their list will dwindle to maybe 1 team and they will all be talking football anyways.

Still don't understand how Huffman and Jasper are in the SETX area. Thats cool tho. After this weekend half your teams on the list will be in spring football wondering..."What happen? We were ranked! The system must be flawed"

    • I have no issue with that however…. Rick Perry, although seemingly not really popular even with Republicans, was almost impossible to beat. The Texas conservatives just needed that tough, real conservative with an already popular voting base. Someone that has been elected to both Texas state office and federal office.  Boom! In 2010 in steps Kay Bailey Hutchison, a popular sitting US Senator and former Texas Treasurer. So she has been elected, statewide in both a state political position and nationally as a senator. A Rasmussen poll in 2009 showed Hutchison with a 40% to 38% lead over Perry. She had high profile endorsements as did Perry. Hutchison was endorsed by the likes of G H W Bush, Nolan Ryan, Roger Staubach, etc. If people are actually going to listen to endorsements, those are some fairly well thought of people in Texas. Primary day was between Perry, Hutchison and Debra Medina. Hutchison was beaten by Perry 51% to 30% and he got enough votes to avoid a runoff. Obviously, that has no bearing on today. It does show that just because a person is very popular and already elected to national office from Texas such as Kay Bailey Hutchison, it does not ensure a good showing in the polls against an incumbent. It will be interesting for sure.
    • WOW what a game. just got home, I'm gonna sleep with a big smile all night. PNG QB passes were spot on tonight, lil #17 freshman receiver had huge catches at critical times in the game. # 44 had a couple of huge catches including the 'jump pass' on 4th down for a touchdown.  #4 made big plays at key times on both sides of the ball, he is a beast. #11 played his usual consistent game with big time catches and a couple of good punts and a good job of just falling on a bobbled kick reception. #27 probably had 125 yards or so rushing. The defensive backs did a good job, bending but not breaking including the interception in the end zone. I thought the TH coaches messed up not trying to score with the high power players they have when they got the fumble right before half with 45 seconds or so on the clock and 3 TO left, if they would have scored then it would have broke our backs. I know it was 90 yards to go but they could cover the field in 3 or 4 plays. This is one of the most exciting wins in PNG's long history of exciting wins. Oh yeah kudos to the fans for getting in to the game at key times and in my Opinion making a big difference. 😂
    • To the 41 individuals that picked TH…..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Round 4 here we come!
